    Anyone?

At a local used clothing store 3 weeks ago and I picked up a Brazil jersey, not in the best shape but for $2.99 Can.,I am certainly not complaining. This jersey is made in Brasil by Umbro with the team crest stitched on,above the crest there are the 3 stars and below it the word 'Brasil'.It also has CBF on the collar and a small number 11 just below the collar. On the back there is also the number 11 and the name 'TORRES'.My question is was there ever a player for Brasil by the name of Torres who wore the number 11?if so,was he a good player?I would really appreciate some info on this jersey,if y'all don't mind.

This sounds like the jersey that Brazil used in the campaign for the 1994 WCQ. If my predicament proves to be correct, Romário wore the #11 in the last game of that run. I can't remember who wore that prior to the last game, however, I don't think it would be someone that's actually going by their name, seeing that Torres is normally a last name, not the usual Brazilian nickname or first name usage. My guess is that a previous owner had their own name stitched on the shirt.

Did you get that in Texas? I just donated that to good will last year!

Just kidding. Most Brazilians use the one name type names.

I have my own jersey that says "Jamesaldo", in honor of Brazil. I'd agree with the previous poster.

    Good luck!

Slip',Only one problem with your conclusion of this jersey.Neither the name and number on the back of the jersey are not stitched on.This my friend,is not a half a$$ jersey,as a matter of fact, it's very nice to look at and looks immpeccable except for a few pulls on it and a small rip under one arm.I WILL get to the bottom of this come hell or high water.I will let y'all know what I find out.Jamesf24,Who knows where this came from,I was just happy to get it.There is a store here in Toronto called Value Village that sells used clothing and as funny as that may sound,I have got two other jersey's there.A NY/NJ Metrostars jersey and a Croatia WC jersey.I usually go into these places just on the chance I may find something and the odd time I do.

Are you sure it's not a Futsal or Beach Soccer jersey?

The sport that made Elber popular, actually. I believe it's the indoor football.

    Pre WC'94 official Brazil shirt

Not to confuse with indoor soccer, Futsal is known in English as Five-A-Side. It is played in Basketball Courts, with little goals and a small (but very heavy) ball.

the before 1994 official shirt is being worn by my son, who at this hour is already crossing into Iraq.

The first initial and last name are used when there are two players that go with the same name. Futsal is a FIFA sport, so probabably the CBF is the Brazilian organizer.

I always got Futsal and indoor mixed up a bit. I remembered that they both were high scoring alternatives.

Best of wishes to your family Moacir.

I checked my almanac, there is a brazilian player named torres who has 1 cap with brazil. He was selected for brazil 1992. could possibly be olympic shirt, because 1992 olympics were that year.Umbro was the sponser that year

    Sao Paulo clothing

I'm looking for Sao Paulo gear other than jerseys, such as hats, warm-ups, bags, etc.

If you know of any websites I'd greatly appreciate it.

    www.saopaulofc.com.br (best site)
    www.saopaulofc.net (official site)
    www.spfc.com.br
    www.saopaulomania.com (official store)

But the best place you should find is in the stores near the Morumbi stadium. I've been there yesterday to buy my three-game ticket to the south america libertadores.
I don't know if I've helped but anyway...

    Regards.

    Re: Sao Paulo clothing

Thanks. That's great. I'm going to Sao Paulo in May, but wanted to check for places online first. I looked at the two official sites, but had trouble getting the site to come up when I clicked for jerseys, clothes, etc.

    Thanks again.
