    no, they must do that to prepare for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, which will be held in the south american winter.

    Caxias do Sul is 90km north of Porto Alegre, the southernmost World Cup 2014 host city. But Curitiba (2nd southernmost World Cup host city) which is farther north is colder than Porto Alegre, because its 800m high while Porto Alegre is at sea level.

    I missed the sarcasm because its decided the Qatar World Cup will be held in the northern hemisphere winter.
