    Hello CerezoElegance! Welcome to Bigsoccer!

If you allow me we will use this now as the official Brazil x Jamaica friendly pre-, PBP and post-game discussion thread. It will take just a few changes in the thread title. :)

Thank you. Have been here before under different names. A bit low at the moment - wanted to go to London to see it!! Might give Leicester a miss.

    Here is the list

    Goalkeepers
    Dida (Milan-ITA)
    Júlio César (Flamengo)

    Full-Backs
    Cafu (Milan-ITA)
    Belletti (Villareal-ESP)
    Roberto Carlos (Real Madrid-ESP)
    Júnior (Parma-ITA)
    Lúcio (Bayer Leverkusen-GER)
    Roque Júnior (Milan-ITA)
    Juan (Bayer Leverkusen-GER)
    Edmílson (Lyon-FRA)

    Midfielders
    Émerson (Roma-ITA)
    Gilberto Silva (Arsenal-ENG)
    Juninho Pernambucano (Lyon-FRA)
    Juninho Paulista (Middlesbrough-ENG)
    Zé Roberto (Bayern Munich-GER)
    Ronaldinho Gaúcho (Barcelona-SPA)
    Kaká (Milan-ITA)

    Forwards
    Ronaldo (Real Madrid-SPA)
    Rivaldo (Milan-SPA)
    Denílson (Bétis-SPA)
    Adriano (Parma-ITA)

Good choice. Conservative, but the wisest (and IMO only route) given that Parreira was determined to use Euro-based players.

Consistency and continuity. From the PENTA core to the core of the team that won the two first qualifying games, we're doing the right thing.

This sure beats a Russian roulette of players. Changes will prove to be inevitable, but for now, let's not reinvent the wheel.

And Rivaldo: glad he's playing... he'll stay fit and play for Brazil.

I know he plays in Brazil but I still would have liked to see Diego (Santos) in the roster.

Not for this game, he missed 2 games recently for Santos and just played again for the first time this weekend.

Only reason Julio Cesar is in there is we need a back up keeper. No need to make other guys fly to London and back for this last-minute friendly.

Too bad, I think it would have been a good idea.

Do you have an online article about it?

(AF)"

Seriously, I'd like to read the article, not some cut and paste job of yours.

Maybe it has more text, maybe it has links I'm interested in. Maybe it is from a source/site I'm not yet familiar with.

Plus, it's against TOS to post an entire article.

Not to mention it's actually easier for you to cut and paste the address then several paragraphs.

Ronaldinho won't be playing in the friendly against Jamaica anymore. He was cut due to injuries.

So now that we won't have Ronaldinho, Kaká will definately be a starter playing in his postion, with Ronaldo and Rivaldo in the upfront. Do you guys risk the probable line-up?

    Brazil vs. Jamaica

The first team appears to be set with Kaka and Ze Roberto making short work of the "subs". Feel free to post anything about the match including play-by-play here.

I guess the first team is set.

    Viewing....

does anybody know if the game is being broadcast in any US format, perhaps Setanta or PPV, FSW....any possible viewing options cause I would love to watch Damani take to a couple brazilian defenders...also heard good things about Lisbie the other striker for Jamaica from Charlton Athletic, helluva of a hat trick the kid put up week before last in the EPL...could be a good tandem...would appreciate the input on viewing...

Kevin Lisbie won´t play due to a knee injury. They begin in a 4-4-2 formation, instead of 3-5-2.

Jamaica: Donovan; Gardner, Marshall, Sinclair e Viadie; Whitmore, Langley, Lawrence e Davis; Fuller e Burton.

Brasil: Dida, Cafu, Lúcio, Roque Júnior e Roberto Carlos; Emerson, Gilberto Silva, Zé Roberto e Kaká; Ronaldo e Rivaldo.
