I'm not surprised at all. We tried to play Bento-ball but the massive gap in quality shows that we're not ready to play this type of football against an elite world class team. I don't blame our coaching staff. We played bento-ball all tournament and got this far so we had to see how it stacks up against the elite of the elite.

The boys only got exemption for reaching semifinals back in 02 as a special case. There's no such thing.
Nope it's only gold for Asian Games and any Olympic medal. Reason being is that it wasn't fair for other sports that their world championships didn't lead to exemptions so only the above 2 multi sport events counted. To be honest there wasn't much backlash for the 2002 World Cup special exemptions, it was the 2006 World Baseball Classic special exemptions that led to more backlash so no more special exemptions.
