    I can see Germany getting a decent result out of this. I think the Brazillians will be a little tired from their game this weekend and travel. I have yet to see a starting lineup for Deutschland. 2-1 either way

    I think Germany will draw with the Brazilians; the Brazilians are a little weak without the Bayern Munich and AC Milan players, but we have injuries ourselves (Friedrich and Metzelder among the few). I think it's going to be close.

    A pretty good article about the impending friendly:

    oh and I think either brazil will score at the last minute to make it 1- 0 or end up in a 0 - 0 tie.

    Ronaldo will not play for Brazil on that game! Germany should win that game!

    i think the possibility of germany taking a win is very real. You got a young coach, young players, and a core of veterens, The desire, if its there, could really make it a tough game for Brazil. They can be defeated, but it seems to me you got to defeat them mentally as well. I hope germany can do it, what a shock that would be.

    Where did you hear he won't play?

    This is our expected line-up:

    Júlio César;
    Belletti, Juan, Roque Jr., Roberto Carlos;
    Juninho Pernambucano, Edmílson, Edu;
    Ronaldinho Gaúcho;
    Adriano, Ronaldinho

    Well..I don't know about you guys but I wouldn't be so terribly schocked if Germany were to beat Brazil. They are playing on home soil and have every reason in the world to perform well.

    And when Germany beats Brazil..I will throw the largest party this neighborhood has seen!!!!

    A win against a team like Brazil would do a lot for the confidence of the team. The German midfield with Deisler back is world class.

    Should be a great game, wish it was on tv in the u.s.

    Anyone plan on doing a play by play?

    Brilliant goal by Brazil, with Ronaldinho putting in a spectactular free kick, no power on it, but the amazing precision gets it into the net.

    But Germany equalise 10minutes later thanks to VfB s own Kevin Kuranyi, and nearly take the lead when Marcos stops Kuranyi s shot after a great pass by Deisler...really playing well, the Germans tonight...

    Dammit...looks like Germany shouldn't have allowed that goal. Is it going to be another case of dominance with no victory for Germany?

    Not a bad result. For those who caught the game a few questions. Overall impressions? Deisler? Going forward?

    Yes :( And the second half was truly boring with both teams seem satisfied with a draw.

    Here are my ratings for the German players tonite:

    Defence
    --------
    - Kahn (7): Could do nothing for the first goal but he made a great save in the second half. But overall didn't have much to do.

    - Huth (8): I was quite impressed by Huth's overall performance tonite.

    - Lahm (8): This kid is simply AWESOME. Phenomenal.

    - Hinkel (7): I have a feeling Hinkel is still not at his best but he still managed to do fairly well tonite.

    Midfield
    -------
    - Frings (8): Back to his better form - really wish he could duplicate that in Bayern ;)

    - Ballack (5): Had a very quite nite. Only managed to get himself booked :(

    - Diesler (6): Made a few slick moves and assisted the goal but this was marred in the second half by a couple of near-fatal mispasses and lapses of mind.

    - Schneider(8): Schneider is back! ;)

    Forward
    --------
    - Asamoah (6): Fought very hard but was too wasteful in front of the goal.

    - Kuranyi (8): Played really well today and could've scored more.

    You forgot Fahrenhorst (well, he wasn't that good ;)). Was the first German friendly i haven't seen in a long time (well, at least parts). Especially the first half wasn't bad.

    Oops yes, thank you :) And I also thought Fahrenhorst looked quite a mediocre player tonite. Will give him a 5.

    By the way, my post should read "the first German friendly i HAVE seen in a long time" (makes more sense that way). And watched would probably be better than seen as well.

    Fahrenhorst was the reason for the free kick that Ronaldinho put away so it wasn't such a great game for him. I didn't watch the game but from what I've read Germany didn't look so bad. I think this is a good start for this German team that leaves a lot of room for improvement.

    Is he, Fahrenhorst, the one who made a mistake in the match against Holland in Euro 2004 ??

    if so, then drop him, this guy is not good enough for national level

    Seems lie a pretty good perfomance overall for the national team. Good work by Kuranyii, he is deserving of a starting place.
