Ok, although I did know what he meant, I merely wanted to mention it to those not familiar with ESPNU....... I really don't see the big big difference. That being, because of preempting the showing of a rerun of a rerun of a rerun does not, to me, make a big difference.......Do you think the viewer ratings are going to be that different???? Any sportsbar will also have ESPNU available, so anyone who requests seeing a soccer game, will most likely be able to......
This is great news. I think you are right about Adu. Also, I am guessing that ESPN realized how good the numbers were for the Gold Cup final so they are deciding to take a shot (especially if the US might win).
What?!?! No overweight guys pulling 18 wheelers? No guys sitting around playing cards? Whats happening up in Bristol????
It makes a big difference to the average sports fan. The one who doesn't have ESPNU in their lineup and has been seeing some stuff lately on Freddie Adu. He decides to turn in because it's on ESPN. Plus "most" bars, even sports bars, have regular Espn on before they have ESPNU on as their standard viewing.
Ok so it's not on my onscreen guide. Should I assume that when they list NASCAR what they actually mean is SOCCER??
no, its on espn , the tv guide station is showing it now, i just wish my tivo would show that its on.
Finally, a soccer match on ESPN. I haven't been able to watch any soccer on ESPN since the Liverpool-AC Milan Champion's League Final.
I pray this is not the case here as well where my info for ESPN hasn't been changed to soccer either.
What will be interesting in all this is how many people who are tuning in to watch the Hot Dog Eating Contest end up writing ESPN to complain about that "stupid soccer game" that they decided to broadcast at the last minute... i mean, who cares about soccer... competitive eating is the next big thing in 'merica... and what's the point of having TV listings if they're just gonna show whatever they want anyway (especially when nobody wants to watch soccer anyway)...
This is great. I can't believe I'm watching American soccer on ESPN on a Friday night. Sure beats the hot dog eating contest and poker...
