Here is our current roster. It shows two open senior roster slots with one SI position. It's hard to know about the DV roster because Westfield isn't in camp and I'm not sure if he's signed but we can say there are two open DR slots.

    1--Adin Brown
    2--Matt Reis
    3- Leo Cullen
    4--Rusty Pierce
    5--Daniel Hernandez
    6--Joe Franchino
    7--Daouda Kante (SI)
    8--Shalrie Joseph
    9--Brian Kamler
    10--Jay Heaps
    11--Steve Ralston
    12-Winston Griffiths (SI)
    13- Joe Max Moore
    14-Pat Noonan
    15--Wolde Harris
    16--Taylor Twellman

17 ???? (Carlos llmosa or his replacement)
    18 ???? (Attacking Midfielder)

    1--Nick Downing DR
    2--Marshall Leonard DR
    3--Danelon Westfield DR
    4-- Kyle Singer DR

It's obvious that the two open slots are critical--another starting defender and a midfield general. We should know about Llamosa in a few days. We are waiting to hear who will be traveling to Brazil on trial for the AMF job.

For Brasil, you will want to add Joey Digiamarino and Kevin Jackson as players who will be down there on a trial basis.

Jackson, if his name hasn't popped up already, played with Matt Driver in South Jersey. I believe he's a striker.

Posted by Clearblue on the Serna/Llamosa?Nowak thread:

"Patrick Buhlmanns' on his way to Brazil by the end of the week and the Revs will also be looking at chilean Cristian Uribe who is 26, played for Colo Colo and Benfica and the Nat. Team"

    So that's:

    Joey Digimarino
    Kevin Jackson
    Patrick Buhlman
    Cristian Uribe

What's the book on the above players?

We only have limited roster space. Some of our trialists might stick. Who on the current roster is at risk?

    Buehlmann

Personally, I'd rather have top-quality left wing than an attacking central midfielder. The thought of Twellman and Moore getting exceptional service from left and right is mouth-watering. If Buehlmann is as good as he was reported to be last year, he would be a very tempting addition.

Joey Digiamarino is an outside left mid, maybe a holding mid. Definitely not a central defender (or replacement for Llamosa). He's in high demand--DCU wants him, SoS probably wants him, I'd bet other teams as well. He's already been working out with several other teams (I thought Chicago was one though I could be wrong). He will either go into a weighted lottery or the supplemental draft

USSoccerUK is reporting that Llamosa has rejected MLS offers and is off to South America. I guess we all were prepaired for this. That gives us two senior roster slots and a reasonable amount of Cap.

I'm waiting to hear definitive reports on who will be traveling to Brazil with the signed roster.

Does anyone know anything about Uribe???

I guess we should be hearing shortly the final travel roster for Brazil. So where do we stand at this moment?

~So far this off season we have unloaded a bunch of players (Fuller, APC, Rooney, Serna, Cloutier, Llamosa) yet our starting line-op from Cup 2002 is almost intact.
~To this we have added two starter level players (JMM and Reis) and one significant draft pick (Noonan).
~We still have two senior roster slots open and from all reports significant Cap space.
~If the reports are true we may be looking to sign a significant upgrade at left wing and will be looking at one or more AMF's while in Brazil,

When I look at the above I find reason to believe the the Revs in 2003 will be a very competative side.

    Regular Roster
    Reis
    Brown

    Joseph
    Kante(SI)
    Pierce
    Heaps
    Franchino
    (Llamosa)

    Kamler
    Griffith(SI ?)
    Ralston
    Cullen
    Hernandez
    Noonan
    Buhlman(SI)
    Uribe(SI)

    Twellman
    Moore
    Harris

    Developmental Roster
    Singer
    Downing
    Leonard
    I, Kante
    Jackson

Interesting to note no Joey DiGiamarino. Maybe it became obvious that they weren't going to need him with Llamosa signing.

It looks like there are two slots with three candidates---Griffith, Buhlman, Uribe. My guess is that Griffith is a-goner.
