StarStruck appears to finally have some goodies, if you want to shop on line:

Includes Twellman #20 tees, and the real Umbro deal ("coming in May"), but they could be in sooner.

    From their website:
"MLS 2003 Replica Jersey. 100% Polyester. $29.95 WILL ARRIVE IN MAY 2003"

    So, 1) they don't have them yet and 2)at $29.95, I'm suspect...

Yeah, true, but they sent me a catalog--and it's not on the web site, but they list replica jerseys for all 10 teams at 69.95, and can be customized (name and #) for an additional 15 bucks. That probably is the real deal. The phone is 877-843-4263.

No idea what the new jersey will look like, but I really wish the Revs would go back to the 1999 away jerseys again. Take a look at Soccer America April 14, 2003 issue, page 26 to see it (Joe-Max wearing it). Surely Umbro could put out something that looked just like it.

I realize I'm a United fan so maybe you don't care what I think, but that kit was one of the best in MLS history, IMHO.

You mean the white one with the wide red stripe going from the shoulders down the sleeve? Wasn't that a Liverpool copycat jersey? I'm surprised a Man United fan would want to see that...

I say keep the same basic look of a blue jersey with Red panels on the sides. Change little things year to year like the stripes on the cuff of the sleeve, the type of neck (v-neck, crew neck, collar), or whatever, but keep the basic jersey the same. For Ever. Or at least 10 years.

Notice how teams like the Celtics, Yankees, and Canadiens never wear "throwback" uniforms on special occasions? That is because their current uniforms are pretty much exactly as they were since the start of the teams' history. The Celtics have been wearing that basic design since the 1940s and the Habs and Yankees go back nearly 100 years. That is tradition, not the San Diego Padres trotting out in their 1970s brown "taco" uniforms.

Replica jerseys are basically tee shirts that look like jerseys, although they are made out of some kind of polyester or something. My son has an SJ one, which he got last year for $30. This is different from the "real" jerseys that they seall for $80 or so.
