This is the hammer match for these two teams. Only Heerenveen has the capacity to cut down the points difference PSV has with the rest. This is going to be a real test for Mike with a cunning team that has found back the ways of Hiddink by the hand of coach Vergoossen. PSV has back that aura of superiority with a defense that is solid as a block of concrete and it is going to be interesting to see how Mike will deal with Ibrahim Affelay, who has an acceleration that is mind boggling. Affelay is considered by most in the Netherlands as the natural coming leader of the Orange midfield. If Mike plays against Mechico and Salcido plays as well, he will face hime twice in a matter of days on two different continents with two different teams against two different teams. Only soccer can give you this
I wonder if Mike will start or have the stamina to go the full 90 if he does, depending on how much time he sees against Mexico (which I expect to be substantial).
It's a shame that Heerenveen are facing PSV right after the international break, if only for Baby Bradley. We've seen Heerenveen tear up, pretty much, any team they've played for the past month and watched them rocked up the table... now playing the class of the Eredivisie, you'd love to see a fully fit Bradley... but game on Wednesday night (Thursday morning in Holland), two cross-hemisphere flights, and a match on Saturday is a lot to have on the plate. We know he'll see time, it's just a matter of if we can see him at his best.
He's had a few Wednesday-Saturday and Thursday-Sunday games this year. Heerenveen beat Helsingborgs in the UEFA Cup on a Thursday and he scored 2 goals and came off after 72 minutes in a 5-3 win. Then he played 90 minutes on Sunday against Utrecht and scored a goal in a 3-2 loss. He went 90 minutes against Ajax in the Dutch Cup on a Wednesday and scored a goal in the 3-1 loss, then came back on Saturday to go 90 minutes against PSV in a 2-1 win. I'm sure the flight to and back will be tough but he's only 20. He can be subbed against PSV after his first half hat trick.
You'll be legend if that comes to pass, but not as legend as Mikey will be. Anyway, I hear the "he's only 20 stuff", but I've flown a lot internationally and it can really kick your butt. Of course he can afford the really good seats, so hopefully he gets some quality sleep on the way back out. Hope BA, er KLM, has some full laydown sleepers in the first class flight out of Houston.
I'm hoping heerenveen win and an ajax loss. even though ajax is my favorite dutch team. also bradley gets two points in this game.
Well, after the international matches PSV is taking a psychological lead. The Heerenveen Croats Pranjic and Medunetcetera were defeated by Affelay of PSV and Mexico defender of PSV Salcido didnot bow for the USA with Mike Bradley. As Salcido faces Mike during the match when he wants to penetrate the PSV box it all comes down which of the two did recover the best from the continental flipflop or who flew the most comfortable plane.
Agreed, pretty much the only reason Memphis "International" Airport is named as such these days. Although I wonder if they suffered any damage in the extensive tornado front (?) I'm taking Bradley for goal on a 65th minute 6-8 yard shot on his standard support run into the box. PSV 2- Heerenveen 3. Mon the Veen'
I was wondering if Telemundo might pick up this game as (because of Salcido) they occassionally show PSV tape delayed on their Saturday and Sunday afternoon games. But it looks like they're showing Salvador's WCQ vs minnow Anguilla on Sat and Argentina-Guat friendly on Sunday (both tape delayed from Wednesday). I hope Salcido and Bradley sat next to each other on the long flight home. Maybe supervised by a Federal Air Marshall...

you guys still care about mike bradley, didnt you hear after the mexico game he SOOOO isnt good anymore
I think players get these accents on purpose. O'Brien never got an accent, and he moved to Holland when he was like fourteen. Dolo has been with Hannover since 1999 and remains accent-less. I think it's because chicks dig accents.
