I wonder if Nick Rimaldo goes to US Men's Team, wouldn't DC United need the best goalie in the world? Wouldn't DC United then turn to the World Cup champion, the man that gave the US men their best showing in World Cup, Sir Brad Freidel?

It would be so exciting to see Brit champion, Brad Freidel, playing for DC at RFK....oh... we can only dream that Brad would come and be a real goalie for D.C. United!

I sit in Sommers in Arlington and await a new goalie for my favorite team; let's trade center Etcheverry for a new goalie.....BRAD!

HOPING FOR BRAD FREIDEL AS D.C. UNITED TENDER!

There is very very very little chance of Brad coming to MLS, as he is one of the best keepers in the Premier.

Even if he did come to MLS, Columbus would have first dibs.

ps-You may want to edit your favorite team as listed under your name. ;)

Nick doesn't leave DC's team to play with the Nats.. He just goes away for a while when needed by the Nats..
Brad will play in England for years to come, most likely.
Anyway, a player being on the national team doesn't mean he leaves his club team..

As I understand it, Brad is almost more English than American. I think I remember someone saything that he had a think British accent.

brad friedel, what the hell has brad friedel done? hell he couldn't make it at liverpool, he wasn't even that good at columbus. the only reason he gets any respect now is that as kasey keller's long time back up he has a little bit of the pepper fall on him.

one good tournament and a half-season in some obscure european league don't make you a keeper. i've seen guys on the richmond kickers and the new jersey stallions who are better than him. i wouldn't trade the rights to gazza and the metros front office for him.

    Brad Friedel for Etcheverry

    Suuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeee...........

I sometimes wonder what's more likely. DC United posters fantasizing about Diablo's retirement, getting traded, not playing/benched OR the sun coming up in the morning

It is way past time to just accept the fact that Diablo will be playing for DC United this year.

I hardly think putting together a string of some of the best saves i have ever seen against Henry and Co. qualifies him as obscure and worth the same as gazza, but then again, sarcasm detection was never my strongest subject..... ;)

I'd take Keller over Friedel any day. We would have won the WC if that fool Arena had played Kasey.

Yep...sounds like a front-runner type fan to me. Ought to go for Man'ure or the Yankees, not, like me, Rovers, the LA Dodgers and DC United.

To be a fan means living through the bad times as well as the good, bleeding with your boys and relishing their achievements...and never, never, turning away when what they need is support.

Actually I think Keller is very good. He's in a bit of a rough stretch right now, but still good enough to start on an EPL team. Some of the best goalies in the world play in that league. Without him, I don't know if we even make it to the WC this past year.
He's not as good as Brad Friedel over the past year, but that doesn't make him a bad player.
