The parts I've seen Boyd struggling to get anything going. He'll need to learn to manage these situations. His teammates are not playing the ball out wide as much (I wonder if losing his midfield mate to Germany has hurt) and much of the flow of game is through the middle where it is too crowded, and Boyd isn't really moving to create any space or winning the 40/60 balls. Part of issue is that the build-up from Rapid is just too slow, so it is making it very crowded in final 1/3 and the on-the-ground combinations also aren't fast enough in such a tight space to be effective until now.
yes, really dreadful today (including both clubs). Boyd seemed also unaware he was in offside position on several plays. He has a lot of work/learning still to do and the last 2 games were not an accurate reflection of where is truly at. Work in progress big-time.
Love how this place works. He's scores 3 goals in two games and he's a superstar in the making, struggles the next and he's back to being a work in progress...
Are you referring to Drazan? That rumored move to Kaiserslautern didn't actually happen; he played for Rapid in this match.
wow, well then the side was utterly putrid. It was painful to watch. No adjusting to what the opponent was doing.
Anyone else disappointed Boyd didn't at least shoot for Budesliga II? You'd think scoring 20 goals on his old reserve team would have given him plenty of suiters at that level, which from all evidence seems more competitive than this Austrian league stuff.
