Well I know 10 people who have gone into the store to buy US Soccer Merchandise, and they have never carried it. But stores like Sports Authority and Dicks carrfy US Soccer merchandise, so it seems very unacceptable.

this is one of the dumber threads ive seen in awhile. lets lock it before it gets worse.
stores will stock what they think they can sell. if they have stocked mexico gear more than the US that means they think they can sell more. it is a business, not cultural philanthrophy devoted to patriotism.
are you familiar with business? or capitalism?
please, lock this thread before it gets idiotic again.

Champs is a store only for hoodlums who enjoy getting ripped off.

i live in brownsville texas on the border and at academy you can get plenty of mexico gear as well, , their home and away, youth, those soccer long shorts, caps, t's, and they only had three u.s. home jerseys for youths.

Meh, I've never shopped at either store anyway. If I want to buy decent sports gear I don't go to the mall.

i went by there a few days before father's day and also went to sports authority and there was slim pickings for USA everything. i think they sold out. i remember i got a USA shirt at Champs right before the last WC. Maybe they didn't order enough this year (or none at all), but sports authority had only kids size USA jerseys and no t shirts left. In 2005 i got a blue USMNT jersey at Just Sports on clearance and i have seen USA sweatshirts there, so they do have USMNT stuff there. Eurosport said they had been sold out of USA jerseys since may and that the jersey t shirt (which aren't out yet) were already on back order

maybe they were popular, maybe it was a good sign

Yeah, if I have time today, I am going to go to the local soccer shop on Speedway, and take pics of the selection. I want to go to the Dicks, but I don't feel like driving over half an hour to Oro Valley for a store just to take pictures, and not buy anything. But I did post the link of Sports Authority album. Its amazing to see all the big name teams instead of just Mexico and the US. But they said they didn't expect so many people wanting to buy t-shirts and jerseys. But you can tell they over ordered on the Away Warm Jackets. I don't think anyone is willing to pay 70-80 dollars for a sweatshirt in the middle of summer. I can gurantee you I will go back there after the World Cup, so that I can buy that warm up for half-off, because they still had every adult size available.

Not that I want to stand up for those stores but stores just cant carry whatever they want, whenever they want. They have contracts and deals with certain suppliers. They also have a business model that they follow which doesnt really involve selling to soccer fans.

Some random employee isnt going to know why a large corporation does or does not carry certain gear. For him to say it is policy to never carry US gear because no one buys it is just dumb. Reality is that he is a $7 an hour employee in a nationwide corporation. He doesnt know jack about anything.

Champs Sports has never carried much soccer gear. They cater to the traditional US sports fan and really target to African Americans and carry a ton of basketball and football gear. That is their business model and the demographic they choose to sell too. You cant really fault them for that.

It's not really a big loss to not shop their since they are one of the more overpriced stores around.

Very true. The one in Times Square was insanely overpriced, and yet people still were buying stuff from them.
