Thank goodness for this grand old tradition of English football. Now I know what I'm gonna do the day after Christmas.

The match will be shown on FSWO 1100 EST/0800 PST.

The match will be played in The Riverside, where 'boro remain undeafeated this season. Yikes! Tough venue . . . . . motivated home crowd . . . . . perfect place to snatch a win.

Are Scholes & Veron fit to play? Are Keane & Beckham fit to start?

Well, another game that many are not going to want to talk about.

With under 5 minutes left, it is Boro 3 - Man Utd 1.

Another loss and now 7 points under Arsenal.

For all of Sir Alex's lip service about not wanting to just put back in the high priced players, he goes and fecks with it anyways....

    Crap!

Horrible defending. Absolutely horrible. Blanc and others out of position on the first goal, O'Shea letting the man by him on the second, and Blanc giving up on the man who scored the third goal. Why did Alex leave Blanc in when Rio came in? Blanc is old and slow, and it showed on the third goal. I presume that Silvestre is out, because otherwise, there's no way Blanc should even be out there.

Horrible decisions by the ref. Should have been two penalties for a handball and a foul in the box.

Anyone else have problems with blips in the audio throughout the game?

last year we had a good christmas, this year :(
be glad to get back to winning ways, perhaps this weekend.

Crap game. All the work of beating Newcastle, Liverpool, & Arsenal thrown away.

Another piece of bad defending & no heart, watch Veron on the first goal. He runs at Quedrue(sp), & just runs past him, no challenge, no nothing, Quedrue continues his run, passes to Boksic & Goal. Oh well.

Extremely disappointing...like Martin Tyler pointed out.. what must Forlan be thinking after the injection of Rio Ferdinand as a forward. Was Sylvestre hurt? What was Blanc doing in there instead? Time to sit Ruud for a game or two also.
Veron reverted to his old self.

Well, not necessarily. If we hadn't beaten Newcastle, Liverpool, and Arsenal, we *could* be 19 points behind Arsenal on this Boxing Day and I'm sure things would be a lot gloomier had it turned out this way.

Come on, guys, we gotta look at the bright side of things. After all, it's Christmastime and 'tis the season to be jolly! :)

    stick with what works

I didn't hear, is Silvestre resting, hurt etc? why was rio put up front when Forlan was still on the bench, Blanc is a dead horse, send him to the glue factory.

I love keane, but he doesn't deserve to be in the lineup just becuase he is keane-o. Since keane returned we have droped 6 points. What the hell is SAF doing.

Agreed. Keano, Becks, and Rio are great players, but they aren't the ones who were on a great run until the last two days.

Yeah, I had the blips, too, and it was driving me nuts. Maybe it was a Denver thing?

Couldn't have said it any better myself.

As to the audio blips, blame the live feed. Maybe they were trying to do a 10-second delay mid-match. LOL.

AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! How can we go from beating Newcastle, Liverpool, and ARSEnal to losing to Blackburn and Middlesbrough? I mean really, 'Brough? Come on, terrible game. Rio instead of Forlan was a mistake and maybe Keane shouldn't be starting. Don't even get me started on Blanc, phony French....

I too had the blips and it was so damn annoying, something I didn't need while watching us loose to Middlesbrough, I think it may have been in the conversion from PAL to NTSC.

Why are you speaking as if Middlesbrough are just a poor team and should be a team Man Utd should be beating,if this was the case would we be undefeated at home?.Im a Middlesbrough season ticket holder and i was at the game and being at the game and watching it on TV is totally different,we out played you totally you shouldnt have had a penalty at any time and for the foul it was a clear dive!.For you who dont know the scorers were Boksic,Nemeth & Job.Oh by the way you hardly tested Schwarzer and we outplayed you so i dont know how Alex Ferguson can think his team should have beaten us?!

MikeyM u were nearly right its Queudrue

    Blanc 3 Utd 1

What the hell is Ferguson up to? Blanc is DREADFUL! Whenever he plays there's a striker size hole in the middle of defence. There isn't another Premiership manager would even contemplate playing him :(

I also had to deal with the audio blips. It seemed like they were coming from the crowd mics. My dad, who is nearly deaf, even complained how annoying they were.

    As posted by Rudeboy:
"I love keane, but he doesn't deserve to be in the lineup just becuase he is keane-o."

I agree with the above statement. He may be fit to play, but it seems like he is not playing with any heart. I rarely heard mention of his name during the game. Maybe he is being conservative in his play, so as not to get into any trouble.

    As posted by BORO:
"...shouldnt have had a penalty at any time and for the foul it was a clear dive!"

I hate to agree with a Middlesbrough fan, but at first look, it seems like it should have been a penalty. However, watching the replay shows that RVN dived.

I wouldn't call it a dive. He definitely received a push in the back but it certainly wasn't enough to put him on the floor. At worst he went to ground to exaggerate the push to let the ref know about the push.

There's no doubt his reputation didn't do him any favours.

But there was a handball by a Boro defender in the box. It wasn't a clear cut case of deliberate handball but there was a definite advantage gained by it and the player was a little slow in moving his hand away (there was an exgaggerate movement of the hand away AFTER the ball had hit it). It was definitely worth a call and penalties have been given for less.

On the other hand Boro thoroughly deserved their win :(

Man Utd try to get their own way all the time by cheating why every time their is a call that doesnt go their own way do they surround the ref if they were a team that played by the rules they would accept the ref's decision

SAF says the reason we lost was because of poor finishing.

But I like this one better about the dreadful Frenchman.

Poor finishing? you had like 1 shot and luckily scored from it so how can you have lost due to poor finishing when you had like 1 shot?!

No what im saying is this

Ferguson says Poor finishing cost you the match yet you only had like one shot so there is no way you would have won anyway

hey boro there is a key to the lower right of your keyboard that is marked with a period and another key right next to that is marked with a comma they are good keys that separate words so i personally reccomend you use them or else your messages turn out looking like big globs of text that nobody in their right mind wants to sift though and desipher like this one.
