This is a key battle. Bolton know they can win at Anfield. They've done well with Chelsea and Arse.
    We need the points. Discuss

I saw the Bolton - Arsenal match and Bolton are probably playing better than anyone in the league right now.

This is gonna be a really hard match for us. They are giving 110% all over the field and never know when they are beaten.

Their performance against Arsenal was nothing short of incredible. Okocha is a supreme talent and if we don't get control of him we are sunk.

Saw it as well. They deserved to win. The midfield will be where the battle is in this match. SG and Didi have to step up.

  4. Saw the Arse match as well; Bolton are on very good form. I hope our lads are keen to avenge the league-cup debacle.

Like your lineup, although for the third week in a row you've got Murphy on the bench--so for the third week in a row I'll disagree with you, LB. Gotta have the Spud in the starting XI, IMHO (instead of Diouf, of course.)

No Diao, and a week of rest due to the Wolves postponement--I think we've got a good shot at the three points here, but it will be tough.

Re: Re: Boxing Day - Liverpool v. Bolton

Point of information: I'm trying to guess the actual GH lineup not pick my own team. On form Smicer deserves a place and Spuds is never a bad choice but the lineup I posted is my guess at GH's decisions. Diouf played well for the reserves last week and I think the assignment to play for the reserves was a kick in the ass aimed at improving his level of effort.

Got it. In that case, I think you're right with suspecting Diouf to start. Good point about the reserves match being used to improve his level of effort.

The interesting thing about the reserve's match was that he played as a forward and not as a winger.

I am wondering if GH will try him there soon and play Spud out wide.

I thought I read that we played two Academy kids up front not Dioufy? I've been known to be wrong before.

    Second...or third or fourth that...!

    Not an easy game.

  10. And if we don't get out of this weekend with at least four points, I know I'll be reaching for a fifth . . .

Bolton attacking harder than we are. SG has played some loose balls but so far no harm.

Riise rides a challenge but puts his right footed shot into the Keeper.

    We're attacking better now.

Phil Thompson and Phil Brown screaming at each other. Gh breaks it up.

Murphy free kick and Smicer just misses the header --wide
