Been saying it for time. Jackson is a good player, but Nkunku can create more goals and is a deadly finisher.
Palmer was quiet today. Sancho had a nice debut - silly yellow card though Palmer, Mr.Felix and Sancho that could be our 3 most creative players - when it clicks and it will - we will look good. Madueke and Pedro useful - but we are unliekly to ever see Mudryck
Yep, I like Jackson, I am not 'down' on the lad and to have two players for the No.9 spot is good - we get 5 subs these days. But I think Nkunku has the edge, his decision making is better.
I thought Sanchez was our MOTM - but they gave it to Sancho. Sancho getting MOTM is encouraging. Best debut I’ve seen since Mudryk v Liverpool. Mr Felix continues to be frustrating. Obviously so much talent, but still not direct enough.
i think NJ does not get enough credit for all the hard work he does off the ball and occupying defenders and some hold up play. Nkunku probably a better finisher and slicker technically. Worth trying but lean towards the sending Nkunku in against tired legs or time for a 4-1-1-4 with both, and Palmer behind. Caicedo plays better without Enzo getting in his way.
I actually think Jackson’s pace and relentless running is better served coming off the bench. He would be a nightmare for tired defenders running in behind constantly.
perhaps, I might also like to see Nkunku play with NJ as a drift in to middle lw role sometimes with Cuc or Chillwell playing a more lb upfield wide role rather than inverted but if Sancho continues on like he started he will be hard to dislodge at lw and it is not Enzo Sr.'s way apparently. Also Stamford is right the game is turning into a sub in an entire new attacking squad in 2nd half so maybe we needed the legions of wings/attackers.
having only just watched the game (bit of a family tragedy yesterday and had a very bad day) it seems that for 70 minutes we were second best and for 20 minutes perhaps slightly the better of the two teams...........will take it though, we've been on the wrong end of that kind of game a lot of times in the last 4 years.
That was a lucky three points away after an international break. A better team would have decimated us. So many turnovers. No vision going forward. Felix is such a waste of money. Neto disappointing. No Enzo - we get a win. Interesting.
A win's a win We have a weird ass squad. Lots of questionable fits and streaky/unpredictable guys. The best-case scenario for this season still involves a long learning curve for our players and coach and a pretty bumpy ride overall. Glad we could grind this one out while we're in the thick of it
Jackson and Nkunku - one starts and the other plays the last 20-25 mins and vice versa. I am fine with that. Nkunku is the better finisher - give Nkunku 3 chances in a game and he will score one of them - Give Jackson 5 chances and he might score none. All the other attacking mids and wingers likewise - they will all most likely get some game time every week. 5 subs means we should be able to keep them all happy. Apart from Mudryck. Pedro, Madueke, Sancho, Palmer and Mr.Felix they all have to continue to prove it. Mr. Felix should be told to stop the unnecessary fluff - and concentrate on playing penetrating passes. This is it for him. One of those players of immense talent and very likeable in the dressing room and each new manager trying to get the best out of him. Time for him to start delivering.
I think Bournemouth are probably a better team than a lot of people think, we've been a mid table team for a couple if years now and ultimately I think an away win on the South coast is a pretty good result. I hope the owners finally understand where we are and give Maresca a bit of time.
