Re: Boston Red Sox 2004, Thread Three [R] I still can't believe Robin Williams gave up his ticket for that game. That game 6 was, almost inarguably, the greatest baseball game of all time. (I wasn't there though, being one month, 27 days old that night). Reminder of game 6, in brief. Interesting choice of motivation, though, as the '75 series ended with another amazing game, just not for Boston. (not trolling, just saying).
Re: Boston Red Sox 2004, Thread Three [R] No kidding. This is the most painful season ever. Worse than 1975. Worse than 1978. Worse than 1986. Worse than 2003. THE WORST. The reason? Because I now fully realize it ain't ever happening.
Re: Boston Red Sox 2004, Thread Three [R] Uttery utterly pathetic. They shouldn't even bother showing up tomorrow.
Re: Boston Red Sox 2004, Thread Three [R] This one's not as bad as last year, since it will end more quickly. Not even close. It might be worse than 99, since this was allegedly a better team than the 99 one that blew their wad coming back to bear Cleveland. I was 4 in 78 so I didn't have much of a clue. Hell, I didn't even bother watching tonight, and am starting to succeed in convincing myself not to care. I couldn't sleep after Tuesday and Wednesday. I'll have no problem sleeping tonight. It just doesn't matter after a while.
Re: Boston Red Sox 2004, Thread Three [R] Man, you guys are going to feel so dumb after they sweep the next 4 games. Now where'd I put that crackpipe?
Re: Boston Red Sox 2004, Thread Three [R] It's not over. First time for everything. As much as I expect Derek Lowe to absolutely crumble tomorrow, I'm still going to be rooting for him.
Re: Boston Red Sox 2004, Thread Three [R] As a Mets fan, I didn't know what to think after they were down 3-0 in the series to Atlanta back in '99. The Mets pulled off 2 straight wins, including the grand slam single by Robin Ventura in the bottom of the 15th or whatever inning it was. Should've gone to a game 7 too if John Franco wasn't 90 years old giving up the tying run and Kenny Rogers didn't walk in the winning run. But the Mets came awfully close to becoming the first team to comeback from a 0-3 deficit. Hopefully the Sox will actually become the first. Gotta keep the faith. Go Sox!
Re: Boston Red Sox 2004, Thread Three [R] Both. You know where the Mets are when the foliage reason arrives, right?
Re: Boston Red Sox 2004, Thread Three [R] You gotta hate it when the smart guy of a duo is the one who leaves. It's like having you eggs in Marty Jannetty's basket. god are the Mets in disarray
Re: Boston Red Sox 2004, Thread Three [R] Agreed - if you're gonna die, it's always better to get smacked by a car doing 100 then it is to die of about 50 different knife wounds. Side note : The co-host of Republica Deportiva is looking frisky today. Nice boobages. BTW Varitek stays. Pedro is gone. Lowe is gone. Who else are FA's this year
Re: Boston Red Sox 2004, Thread Three [R] The Sox will tie the series up at 3-3, take a huge early lead in game 7, go into the bottom of the 9th up by 5 runs...and blow it.
Re: Boston Red Sox 2004, Thread Three [R] I wouldn't be surprised. Realistically, we could win the next two in Fenway, but it would take a miracle to win two in Yankee Stadium. At this point it would be "batting practice" Wakefield in game 6 and the choker Arroyo on three days rest in game 7.
Re: Boston Red Sox 2004, Thread Three [R] Youll have forgetton by next year at this time. Only to be reminded again. And again. And again.
Re: Boston Red Sox 2004, Thread Three [R] Damn, I wish I could see that hottie host. Also FAs: Cabrera, Williamson (likely to miss 2005 regardless of where he wants to play), option on Embree (I think). I want to say Muller is signed for one more year. We're done, I'm cool with it, the Pats are on.

Re: Boston Red Sox 2004, Thread Three [R] Verybdog, get out of this thread. Now. I've deleted four of your five posts, the next is a card request.
Re: Boston Red Sox 2004, Thread Three [R] well right now they got 9 outs left. they are down by a run. GO RED SOX!!!
Re: Boston Red Sox 2004, Thread Three [R] The Sox are gonna loose. They're too busy worrying about their hair, beards, dirty caps, crudy helmets, stupid pulled up socks and being "a bunch of idiots" to act like pro ball players. I hate the Yankees as much as the next person but they play and act like professionals. They have the most loaded roster of egos yet they don't need to come up with any "cowboy up" or "idiots" crap to show they're a team, regardless of what the personal relationships may be. And they don't whine like the Red Sox. I do however wish Jeter would take a ball to the nuts. A- Rod too. It doesn't matter anyway. The winner of this series is gonna loose ugly to the Cards.
Re: Boston Red Sox 2004, Thread Three [R] you know what bothers me most about red sox fans. they say we buy our teams yet only one player, trot nixon, that has played for them in this series came up through their farm system
Re: Boston Red Sox 2004, Thread Three [R] Ortiz walkoff HR in the 12th, Sox live to fight another day. 6-4
