He gifted them a scoring opportunity (which they cashed in ) at the top of the box , after that we needed more defense and less boneheaded decisions.
If Romero doesn’t panic vrs Seattle we beat the Sounders. He didn’t have to do much tonight. He also didn’t try to do to much.
This was an incredibly fun game to watch from the stands! Congrats to Matan, outstanding game, could have had more with a few better strikes. Az is coming along, but we were on our 2nd/3rd lineup, scored 4, and got a clean sheet. Can any other team in the league do that, regardless of opponent?
Romero put his fingers in his ears during the Jackhammer, I think the keepers are not fans after we had that collision while the jackhammer was going off and they got a goal out of it.
I just couldn't be any happier for Matan. And, even though I will always like and appreciate Caleb Porter, I'm glad the hatty happened under these circumstances. Matan probably won't be on this roster next season, and that's too bad. But wherever he goes, he's gonna get paid. Good for him. It also occurs to me that the last time we beat the Revs 4-0, if I recall correctly, was back in 2008. Not that I'm superstitious, or anything. (Perhaps I'm a little stitious.) Great stuff.
I hope Mățan stays here I’m sure we will offer him a deal. Ultimately it’s his decision and it sure seems like he won’t be back next year.
It was crazy.that Wil Sands was starting for the Revs and we brought 2 guys off the bench that he couldn't get in front of on the team sheet.
Tiny Vampire Hat Trick! Loving that. Another good game from Chambost in MF. AZ with a nice bounce back game. Gorgeous gosl from DeJuan Jones. Could have easily been 5-6-7-8 goals: Rossi too many touches, AZ blazes over, JRR hits the post, Matan right at keeper, Ramirez breakaway saved. Hopefully a win next week and some help from Houston.
Just got done watching... catching up. I was all set to get pissed at AZ for not playing Matan in, who would have had a tap-in. But it worked out. Sweet finish. And to think that he could have actually had FOUR. Good to see him get a clean sheet... even if he really didn't do anything. All in all, a very thorough performance from the lads in black. About what we've come to expect against the dregs of our fair league. Glad we were clinical (mostly). I think we could have had a couple more, but it was almost like our guys knew we had an overmatched opponent, so they went for the spectacular instead of the practical a few times. I mean, seriously, how bad is New England right now? Watching the Revs try to play defense was like watching me scuba diving: Clueless MFers drowning. Just ugly. No big surprise. Take the three points, and hope Vancouver takes points away from LAFC tomorrow.
Oh yeah... I managed to hit the prop bet in back to back games. I don't think I've done that since '93.
"With Matan's second goal of the night, the Black & Gold have set a new club record for goals scored in an MLS regular season with 68, surpassing the 67 the Crew scored last year." (Narrator: "They would, in fact, score one more goal.")
