24 years in a row and counting. First time the BL was over 3 per game since the 86-87 season. Additionally, in the past 20 years the highest average of the big five leagues has been 2.98. (BL in 96-97.

Just one of the many reasons I love the BL.

    Goals per game
    BL 3.16
    EPL 2.77
    Primera 2.75
    Serie A 2.72
    Ligue 1 2.45

Could it also be indicative of the BL lacking competition with Bayern and Dortmund soundly beating up teams in the bottom half of the table?

the article highlights Hoffenheim with 72 scored and 70 conceded as a major contributor to this year.

I don't think so. Every league has good teams running up the score against mediocre-to-bad teams. I think its more indicative of a cultural de-emphasization of defence by Bundesliga teams. A lot of teams in the BL play with an attack-minded pressing schemes based on immediate retrieval of the ball and scoring in transition, yet very few have mastered the art of doing so without exposing the defence. Hoffenheim is an extreme example of this; their focus on offensive-minded play has led them to score tons of goals, but they concede goals on a very regular basis because they haven't figured out how to press the ball without drawing players so out-of-position that they expose the backline to huge amounts of pressure.

Durm reportedly was very impressive during training today. Hope he gets to Brazil and starts instead of Schmelzer. That's a lot to ask of Löw but hopefully Durm impresses enough.

If Lahm is hurt...like he very well may be, I think it could be Durm @ LB with Grosskreutz @ RB...with Hummels and Mertesacker @ CB

Now Lars Bender is injured and will miss WC. Jogi will not add any further call-ups so there's another player down the chute.

Does it really matter who he helps? As long as he went and actually did something for someone he gets a props in my books. By that logic I shouldn't donate to charity A because charity B, C, D... Y and Z need help as well.

Come in Swit, who was coming to the rescue of Eastern Europe while under Iron Wall oppression for 40 years? Each region/race of the World needs to deal with their own issues. I don't see "African-Americans" coming to Africas rescue.

What makes you think the average African American is in a position to make a difference in Africa? Also you're comparing apples to oranges. Neven Subotic has close ties to the country of his ancestory. Most African Americans grandparents have never even been to Africa let alone their parents or themselves.

Anybody catch Turkey vs. Ireland? I was quite impressed with Sahin's display. Future captain material. Now only if his form improved.

but I think that issues, whether social, economic, political or what ever are inter related on a global scale. Cooperation and solidarity are the keys. Solidarity with the worlds poor and oppressed - not racial solidarity - is what is needed.

I hope you didn't get a yellow because of this comment. If anything he deserved a red. I bet he didn't think twice before posting that.

No, my yellow was for complimenting the CL Final being 'flowing and exciting" along with this.

So if Africans should deal with their own problems, shouldn't china, India and the west stop causing problems for them? Or are we going to pretend like Somali didn't descend into the hell on earth that it is now because multinational corporations killed the fishing industry that the country depended on, by using their waters as dumping grounds for chemicals they couldn't get away with dumping in countries that could protect themselves.

Which in turn lead local bands of fisherman to come together and solve their problem by becoming pirates who were initially trying to chase off the international polluters they were under attack from?

He most likely was put in his rightful place. Ignorantly labelling people racist is not far off from being a racist.

Putting my own people as priority #1 makes me an evil person? Some of you live in a fairy tale where there are unlimited resources and Whites are all wealthy & oppressive. I recommend going outside the bubble and traveling the Globe.
