No way bro, El Tri has taken a change of face since the Gold Cup. We have gotten younger and better. The truth is that he wont fit in with our system come 2010.

The old Guard had Borgetti as a target man with Blanco, Ramon Morales, and i guess Arellano making plays around him.

The new gaurd which started to come into place after the 2007 Gold Cup will have Carlos Vela as a Target man with Guardado, Dos Santos, and Nery Making plays around him.

Our New gaurd will be the best we ever had.

Borgetti just doesnt fit in with it...

So i say no. Thanks for the memories Jared.

He will be 36 by the time South Africa 2010 comes along.

    That's not too old.

We have to bring up good young players for the future. True.

But lets not get too carried away.
There also has to be some experience in the team.

Anyways, it all depends on his form.

Borgetti is a legend in mexican soccer. I say he deserves a trip to South Africa, just a sign of respect.

There are younger better players who deserve the trip more than he does. His time passed. The world cup is about winning, so we must take out best players. We can't sacrifice a roster spot just so someone can play because of "respect". Our best team on the pitch does not include Borgetti anywhere on it.

I have total respect for Borg. He did a nice job for us for a while. But like most players winding down, he doesn't want to give it up. Sad to see him grow old, but it's time for our youth.

    Sorry papa, no dice.
If we do take borgetti he is just going to waste valuable space for someone who really deserves it. Yeah Borgetti is a man of experience but c'mon you really think you could see him coming off the bench. Good Example...Claudio Suarez...one of the greatest defenders to wear la verde...but what happen when Lavolpe took him to the world cup?...did he see any minutes?...um...no...no disrespect to him but the reason he was there was just for show. "IF" Borgetti does make to South Africa it will be for the same reason and I don't want to risk and waste a spot that someone who DESVERVES it can fill.
The Borg was the man. WAS...
    thanks 4 the memories.

Lavolpe brought Claudio Suarez for experience and moral support. The guy is a vetern and there's no doubt he was active on the bench, in practices cheering on the guys and giving them advice. With all our young players, maybe Borg feels he can provide a similar role since it doesnt look like we'll have many players under 30. Either that or Borg knows Mexico will win in 2010 and he jus wants a piece of the pie.

remember when borg was benched at pachuca? i seriously doubt he could offer any sort of moral support or advice, only cause drama on the bench.

he's had his chance.... many many times. let someone else try.

well in that case, I guess my last sentence is the answer. If I were Borgetti, I'd want a picture with Gio, Vela, Guardado, Ochoa, in 2010 too :D

Well I've been thinking and I'd say I would go with we shall see when the time comes if Borgetti is scoring goals with his club and isn't fresh off injuries maybe we can consider depending on his form at the time. But I agree with a majority of you his time has come to hang up the national jersey but repsectivly he had a good run with the selccion
