Or was in Mondelo? Maybe it was Parreira. Either way Charlie must go, and John Guppy. Don't forgot about Leahly. They are bad for this organization. So who might be good for this organization. There's this guy that used to coach LA. He holds the 2nd highest winning percentage in MLS history at .626 by the end of the 2001 seaon. In 1998 he led LA to a league record 68 points. Then he became the coach the Metro in 2000. The team had the worst record in the league in 1999, yet he led the team to their best record in Metro history in 2000. So who came to the Metro under his tenure? Probably nobody good. Clint Mathis, Mamadou Diallo, Rodrigo Faria (from out of no where), Andy Williams, Steve Jolley, Brad Davis (one of our best draft picks ever), etc What was that coaches name again, i forget.
Did you see the game last night? Why play for a draw, we need three more points this season and had 2 games left. GO FOR THE WIN! The tie would be useless. And why trade so many players so early in the season? We lost Hernandez, one of the best defensive players last year, Serna, R. Williams. And not playing Williams last night?
And he did all that in the past. I don't know about your job, but mine requires me to continue to successful.
There's a reason he got sacked in LA-- he's just not good enough at motivating players over the long haul. He can identify talented players, sure, so make him a scout and not a head coach. Both his teams have been plagued by awful mistakes in key games (look at the 1999 MLS final). There are always a couple diehards who stick up for any coach, no matter how bad. Somehow, there were people who argued Firmani shouldn't have been let go, that Bora should have had another season. You're that guy for OZ, which is fine-- you're just wrong.
Re: Re: Bora Must Go!!! No i'm definately not that guy. I wouldn't mind seeing another coach next season. Its just that whenever things get bad we always want it to be someones fault and refuse to let it be until they get fired. We will never be happy until we go 28-0 for a season with the MLS Cup trophy in our hands.
Re: Re: Re: Bora Must Go!!! I wouldn't be calling for his head if we were at least a couple points up on our weak division, and poised at least for a run to the semifinals. What's going on isn't acceptable.
As much as I think it is time for a change of coaches, it is also obvious that there is much more to this mess than just the coaching. First and foremost, there is no midfield possession. This team does not have possession type midfielders a la abmod for example. No ball, no offense. By not making the playoffs the Metros will get an extra allocation and then they will also have cap room unless they talk Tab and Balboa into staying around a few more dozen years.
If OZ gets all these so called great players then why can't we win?? a. Coach can't motivate or b. Coach can't Coach?? Either answer is not good Ozzie.
