Zach beats his man down the right wing and plays a great back post cross for a consolation goal. Rated the top man on the squad in the loss, with the commentator (overly) asserting that he was by far the most dangerous man on the night.
And with that result, Volendam are officially relegated. With Gaga Slonina and Zach Booth going down today, we get to nine relegated YsA this season.
Makes a move: ZACH BOOTH JOINS EXCELSIOR ROTTERDAM 🇺🇸Attacker from Eden, UT signs from Leicester. Just 20, he already has Eredivisie experience after Volendam loan & joins growing cohort of Americans in the Netherlands, including big brother Taylor. Basically….. an Eredivisie / Eerste Divisie yo-yo club. I don’t know if that’s good or bad for a 20 year old. We shall see…..
Well, as I mentioned in another thread, the Excelsior team that managed to promote had in their ranks 4 young players, who came there to get playing time and after promotion moved on to bigger clubs and a year, 1.5 year later were Orange Squad selection players and a Moroocan youth international.
Encouraging, at least. Booth is 20 so plenty of time to work hard, develop further, play significant minutes, and catch the eye of someone.
Well, the shit for Excelsior is that they have to start from fresh each time, as they of course get robbed from the players they nurtured.
Zach subbed on in the 73rd minute of a 3-2 victory over Telstar. Unbeaten since the season opener, they're in the promotion mix.

Booth gets off the bench early due to an injury. But that's the good news; bad news is they're trailing 3-0. Booth with one shot.
