Jurgen Klopp: Liverpool boss named Premier League manager of the seaso
    n

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been named the Premier League manager of the season.

The 53-year-old German led the Reds to their first top-flight title for 30 years.

They amassed 99 points, winning 32 of their 38 league games, to finish 18 points clear of Manchester City.

Klopp beat Chelsea boss Frank Lampard, Leicester's Brendan Rodgers and Sheffield United's Chris Wilder to the award.

Last month, he was named League Managers' Association manager of the year.

Well deserved for |Jurgen and pleased to see Wilder getting the plaudits. He did an exceptional job with Sheffield.

what a joke. Hey guys - I managed to finished worse than last seasons manager and won no trophies and had a joke of a transfer ban to dea with (one window essentially where players were purchased before the ban) - but because I’m a Londoner and an English manager I should be in the mix for the award.

Haha - sorry, he isn’t saying those things himself (though you can tell he thinks he something special - no surprise since his manager was Mourinho). It’s the ridiculous media obsession around building him up as some kind of amazing manager. And after his little hissy fit on the sidelines at Klopp and the bench - I dislike him even more.

I don't get this. I would have celebrated, clapped, fist pumped - whatever. We do it for penalties when they are given.

I think Klopp was just trying to head off another Fat Frank incident and not let it be a distraction possibly.

I dont know about England or the US but in Germany you learn from the youth level onwards that you dont celebrate sent-offs of the opposing team

your second sentence (which I agree with) contradicts the first.

I suspect the cheering was more because the ref had corrected a mistake in that the initial yellow was wrong.
I'm sure the bench would have been hollering when the foul happened expecting an automatic red then been ticked off when the ref flashed the yellow.

Its human nature to cheer a correction like that in any game.

Jurgen is just great in press meetings .... here he seems to be expanding on Shankly's "piano players and piano carriers" theme :)

Firmino plays '12 different instruments' in Liverpool's orchestra - Klopp

Jurgen Klopp admits he was delighted to see Roberto Firmino back among the goals for Liverpool last weekend. But the Reds boss once more reiterated that the Brazilian will remain a central figure for his team, whether scoring or not.

Firmino’s late header put the seal on the champions’ 3-0 win over Leicester at Anfield on Sunday evening, and capped an impressive personal performance from the 29-year-old.
It may only have been his second club goal of the season, but speaking at a press conference ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League clash with Atalanta on Wednesday night, Klopp underlined Firmino’s importance to the Merseysiders.

He told reporters: “Scoring was always important for Bobby. But Bobby is a complete footballer.

“A football team is like an orchestra, you have different people for different instruments. And some of them are louder than others, but they are all important for the rhythm.

“Bobby plays like 12 instruments in our orchestra! He’s very important for our rhythm. We can play well without him as well, but I certainly want him on the pitch and if you look at the numbers, I like it a lot having him on the pitch. Really awesome."
