Jurgen Klopp's seven-year spell at Liverpool is the longest reign of any current Premier League manager following Sean Dyche's surprise sacking by Burnley on Friday.

More importantly: Klopp: "I am unbelievably disappointed that of late we have heard more and more songs being sung about the Hillsborough disaster. Really? The deaths of 97 people in a tragedy is now something that can be mocked? How did this happen?" "We have staff at the club who lost loved ones at Hillsborough. There are supporters in the crowd at all of our games who lost friends or family members themselves or who survived the tragedy. They have already suffered more than enough." "So I will say this very clearly: If you are going to a football match to sing about people losing their lives you really should not bother coming. Football does not want this and football does not need this."
best news of the day .... https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...s-to-extend-jurgen-klopp-contract-beyond-2024 Liverpool’s owner, Fenway Sports Group, has opened talks about extending Jürgen Klopp’s contract beyond 2024. FSG’s president, Mike Gordon, travelled from Boston to Anfield for Wednesday’s Champions League semi-final first leg against Villarreal, where a 2-0 victory kept Liverpool on course for an unprecedented quadruple. Klopp’s agent, Marc Kosicke, was sitting a few seats away from Gordon and it is understood a contract extension for Liverpool’s figurehead manager was on their agenda. Liverpool’s owners have long hoped the 54-year-old would sign another contract with the club he has revitalised since his arrival in October 2015. They were encouraged by comments Klopp made last month, when he said he could sign a new deal at the “last minute” depending on his energy levels and enthusiasm for the job, and have moved while the manager is open to the idea.
Klopp's place among club greats Manager Games Win % Bill Shankly 783 52.11 Bob Paisley 535 57.57 Joe Fagan 131 54.2 Kenny Dalglish 307 60.91 Jurgen Klopp 373 61.39
“When the owners brought the possibility to renew to me, I asked myself the question I’ve mused over publicly. Do I have the energy and vibe to give of myself again what this amazing place requires from the person in the manager’s office? I didn’t need too long to answer in truth. The answer was very simple … I’m in love with here and I feel fine!”
