Just to play devil's advocate, here's the worst case scenario for Round #17:

    Colombia - Chile
    Venezuela - Paraguay
    Argentina - Peru
    Ecuador - Uruguay

Maybe Colombia can pull it off at home.
Venezuela will be playing against a qualified Paraguay.
Argentina at home versus and easy-to-beat Peru.
    Uruguay doing the unthinkable.

    Points before:
    Ecuador - 23
    Argentina - 22
    Uruguay - 21
Venezuela - 21 (they'll probably beat Peru tonight)
    Colombia - 20

They'll all leap-frog right over Ecuador! Shit man, the win today was nice, but it is by no means party-time.

I hope he gets over that miss. I think he didn't play the same after that. The other players should have a talk with him. That was really really bad, and he's a young kid, hopefully he doesn't let it affect him.

honestly, that miss was unforgivable....and absolutely embarrasing. luckily he's young and every big game is just more experience....but he could have walked that ball into the net, he just lost his head. the boy needs more smarts out on the pitch...he's got the talent but lacks the brains sometimes - he missed a few passing opportunities and held the ball sometimes when he shouldnt have. the experienced players need to guide him, so he can learn

Man fourth place, WOW! Well we've been lucky, as the last two rounds show. Many teams have been playing to our advantage but the point is qualification is now in our hands. Next two games are going to be TIGHT. I suspected qualification would be tight but it looks like this will be defined up to the last round!

My predictions for the next two games:

As for Uruguay, the home crowd should be tremendous. and looking at the table, Uruguay shouldn't be so hard to beat. I'd say if we can tie Brazil and Paraguay while dominating at home, Uruguay shouldn't be impossible. It all depends on the players' attitudes. Luckily we will have our full squad against them. A tie would be expected, a win preferred.

As for Chile, at Chile, they seem to be gelling and are a pretty high on the table, so I predict another tie. hopefully win.

I know Ecuador can get 2 points, but hopefully, 5.

Crazy how tight the race has become.

If we get 2 points, we're out.

    It's not possible to get 5 point in two games. It's either 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, or 6.

Anyone know why Antonio Valencia kept telling everyone to calm down after the goals?

I was almost right with my prediction :)....And i think Valencia was telling the players to calm down to not lose focus...or to not waste energy in the high altitude by doing crazy celebrations.

Give him a yellow as well.

Who knows, the guy seems to be overly humble. If that's possible. He's almost the exact opposite of Guerron on and off the pitch, would be awesome if one of these guys could play on the Left.

Yeah...that was really interesting. I liked it, because our team has been notorious for relaxing after the first goal and letting the other team tie us. The guy is assuming a leadership role, which is a good thing because he is the team's real "superstar".

Most importantly, he took leadership on the field and made the 2nd and 3rd goals happen.

The thing is I only post from my phone, and the copy and paste data is forgotten pretty quick. So I would have to copy/cut and paste everytime I log in. Subsequently (probably mispelled) making my log in even longer.

    Hmmm...I see.

If you are logged in, let's say on your "My BigSoccer" page, can't you add that as your favorite and shouldn't it save your username:password??

Just ask bigsoccer to change your username if it's such a hassle. Cris changed his.

Yup...used to be "crismerz09", but my mistake in "Cris 09" was to make the "c" a capital "C". To much hassle...
