Kicked some ass at the World Championships. Brings home the gold in Combined: http://espn.go.com/oly/news/2003/0206/1504907.html
Congrats to Bode for winning. A classy guy on and off the sloaps. He has always been my favourite non-Norwegian skier. I think there are more medals in store for him in these championships.
Here's where he learned how to ski as a youngster, he grew up 15 minutes from there. Great place to ski but legendary for cold, fridgid, windy days: http://www.cannonmt.com His best years are ahead of him too. I understand he's more popular in Europe than he is here.
One of my roomates from last year grew up skiing with him. They are pretty good friends, have known each other for almost 10 years. Supposedly a nice guy. Lots to look forward to in the future from him.
Apparently Rossignol have spent shed loads on getting his name associated with theirs - and that just grates, I was more than willing to accept less than that, plus get free skis, and they totally overlooked me Had a decent-ish practice run today in St Moritz, bit ragged on the lower part if I remember rightly. Better than Rahlves, who clearly can't stand the place, and I think has said so (not the place, just the runs, for clarifcation) before. Has anyone seen the start for the men's downhill? Steepest ever according to the TV chap on Eurosport. Does look good from the side angle camera at the start.
