good thing AEG doesnt have any shares in Feyenoord. We would probably be tradeing Boca for a 12 pack of Heineken.

I'd hate to see the Fire without Bocanegra, but if this moves happens, I'm happy as hell for him and expect to see him start for the nats in 06.

Either way, it's mighty nice to read such praise for our boy in the foreign press.

As noted, the terminology is key here; this piece was written by their Dutch Football reporter, but elsewhere their MLS reporter, our old freind Chris Bergin, has stressed the distinction that Howard was "in training"[/i] with Feyenord, but Bocanegra is indeed "on trial".

Howard is already back, and reportedly they were "impressed" but no offer was anticipated.

Yeah you butchered it badly. Feyenoord? You've never heard of them? There is soccer outside of the MLS by the way.

I have been watching Carlos play since he was a freshman at UCLA. My family and I have been saying it since his sophoimore year, Carlos is one of the best defenders in the United States.

Well done carlos and good luck in Holland

You're related to Shaun, aren't you

(And of course, good luck to our boy. Feyenoord could have used him today. ;) )

THanks for pointing that out. It's hard to keep track of. I've reached the point where I ignore the "on trial" stuff from the media hear since it seems to get interchanged with "training with".

  13. Report from Holland

A friend of mine that lives in Rotterdam told me that the local news said the trial with Bocanegra and Howard went pretty well. They speculated that Howard may be offered a contract, not sure on Boca though.
