So, a YA plays a game in a forest, and nobody's around to see... Rennes take this one 4-1, make their streak three straight, and move to seventh in Ligue 1, though there's beginning to be a gap between sixth and seventh. Boca went 90 at left back. He was marking someone else on the goal by Toulouse, but it did come from his side.
Good for Boca in winning his job back. Even though rennes are making a push, I doubt they can reach the Euro spots.
Boca gets a 4 from France Football http://www.francefootball.fr/FF/France/stats/fm/FicheMatch26044_166368.html and a 6 from L'Equipe http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/fm/FootballFicheMatch26044_166368.html There's some discussion (actually, there's not much discussion at all regarding Bocanegra on this game. He was solid, if not notable.) about the Toulouse goal. I don't think he was at fault, and it just appeared to be a play where he was covering for a center back (marking a player in a much better scoring position) and no one was covering for him and his guy scored. From Rennes fans, I've heard a lot of good things about his play, and nothing negative, so I don't think they blame him either. You can judge for yourself from these highlights. And yeah, Rennes are on the outside looking in when it comes to Europe. I don't think they have much of a shot unless some of the teams in front of them have major, major collapses down the stretch.
Sort of like England but about a grading point per game lower for an equal performance. "6" is very good. "5" is good. "4" is so-so. Zidane got mostly "4's" for his 2004 Euros, so the French can be tough graders.
I think this is how well he usually is graded for Rennes, when he's playing. So everything is fine in 'Los-land at the moment. (Knock on wood).
