check with the jamaican radio station that broadcasted the game... i know someone who was going to make an mp3 of the game, but he crashed during the middle of the game

  5. His performance in this match is an excellent proof of my argument that he could do wonders if he plays as an outside left defender. I think this is absolutely the best position for him and he shoud play it also on the Fire.

Sniff, sniff. Another of our young children -- all grown up.

Congrats Carlos. Heck of a great way to start off your career with the Nats.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Nick Garcia playing outside left, with Bocanegra and Califf in the middle?

I didn't think so, but then again I was dozing off in the second half. In the first half, Carlos was definately playing wide left.

Well, I was dozing off too, so that impairs my perception too.

Actually, ussocceruk.com said Garcia was playing in the middle with Boca out left, but they seemed to be switching on and off as necessary.

You may stand corrected. Boca was definately playing the outside left from the start of the match with Garcia playing central. I agree with Marcin. Boca was fantastic out on the left. It allows him to add to the offense and he has shown pretty good vision, touch and crossing ability. If we go four at the back having Boca on the left will definately allow DaBease to pinch inside as much as he wants/needs to. The next question is who will play in the center for us if Boca does end up on the left? Curtain and Brown, Gray? Obviously Boca is as solid as they come in the center, but I am really a believer that he is even better out on the left.

  14. Remember these saint words, guys.

As far as the defense formation is concerned, I agree for Brown and a little reluctantly Curtin (who I am not a big fan of) in the middle (no Gray!) and Boca and Whitfield on left and right. Of course we play a more modern 4-4-2. Also see the formation thread where I spelled it out once already
