Banega gets a much needed rest and so does Palacio.

San Lorenzo tied the gallinas who played with 10 for almost the whole match. Boca need to win this.

    1-1 FT.

Every single chance Boca gets to get closer to San Lorenzo they throw it away.

too many chances we let slip away.
We should just focus on the Libertadores

Russo is making some mistakes that can be costly. I question the inclusion of Bertolo against Velez for the Libertadores and also last nite against Arsenal. Bertolo is still too messy in his ball handling, keeps the ball too long, and defensively is weak. So why is Russo lining him up? Because he has more speed than Orteman or Battaglia.

Is speed that necessary in this team? Yes. The way the team is designed in the middle, demands the 2 outer mids to return promptly to defend after having joined Roman and the 2 forwards in attack.

Here is where I believe that Boca is making the mistake. Playing the local tournament with the same style of play as the Libertadores. Boca could be a lot less aggressive going forward and still win those games. Bianchi did so.

The inclusion of Datolo was also a mistake. He is way to clumsy going forward, and too weak in defending. Both Bertolo and Datolo should only come in as subs, when the game is being won. When their game can take advantage of an opened up adversary that is chasing the game. To open up defenders, their lack of skill is evident.

Yesterday was a game to leave Neri the entire game. To had given a chance to Orteman on the right. I hope that for Thursday, Russo re-thinks the inclusion of Bertolo. I doubt it. The concern of Marin and his "clemente-like" excursions in attack will demand a faster player. So ... we will suffer once again in offense on the right. And lose balls unexpetedly. Welcome back Cata. You'll have some work to do.

Marioni did not play well. he hasnt impressed me yet, i feel his time is up. boca has other fowards to work with in the rotation. boselli is one option, what you guys think?

    i disagree with datolo.
it took him awhile to get used to boca (especially because of LaVolpe always giving him [rap)
but as of late he has played very well, especially the two games in which he had to come on and play for the suspended cardozo.

I actually think more reserves should have been played. Why did Palacio get rested? my thought would be that Palermo would be the one that would probably need the rest as he is much older. It was also good to see Banega get a rest and I think Bertolo will be a very good player, he just needs to get some more continuity. He had his moments against Velez (and I didnt see the game yesterday so can't comment on that)

After watching the game against Toluca at home, I wonder why isn't Mondaini the replacement for Palacio. He has speed and is skillful ... widens the field. Something that neither Boselli or Marioni can provide.

Would like to see one of these days the Marioni-Palacio duo. As far as I can remeber , they have never played together. Marioni is a sub for Palermo. And Boselli is a good sub for the last 30 minutes when his freshness can break up adversaries. But don't see him as a starter.

Bosterosoy ... what was the final score in those games? Datolo has potential, but he can't open up defenses. Yes ... if you bump into defenders a few times, in one or two you'll go thru. But that is not the fluidity of attack that Boca shows/needs.
