    Boca Juniors question

Has Lequi Gonzalez taken over as the #10 for this team? I saw Tevez play various times last year and he was phenomenal. I guess maybe he is preparing for the U-20? Will he regain the #!0 later in the year?

Bracamontes. What happened to him? I thought he was some goal scoring machine..but doesn't even make the bench for the games.

Unfortunately efer is right, Carlos "El Apache" Tevez (number 10 last season, number 19 this season) will have to wait for his time, Ezequiel "El Equi" Gonzalez is Bianchi's fantasista, while he's capable to perform well he needs to adapt, although he even scores in his new demarcation on the pitch!!! maybe Bianchi thinks Tevez was exploding way too fast and needs to lower his revolutions.

About Bracamonte I was wondering the same, it seems he's out of the picture but where??? probably didnt find a team as Roberto "Pampa" Sosa who went to Gimnasia on loan (now that he plays for his former team he scores!! )

    Midwest, the real one.
Hey dale, I think the two previous posters are right, but I'd like to add a few things.

First, of all, while I think Tevez is an exciting player with a ton of potential, it seems to me that Boca's offense is more fluid with Equi running the show at this point. If you saw any of the Colo Colo game, you'd notice that he was just everywhere at once and creating tons of chances.

Don't worry, with Boca in the Copa and Clausura, you should see plenty of both. I think Equi picked up a knock in the Colo Colo game, but I didn't see this past week's game so I don't know if he's back yet.

Also, I think part of Bianchi's reasoning with Equi as titular was that he expected Tevez to miss a large chunk of the season with the Sub-20's. Now that that has changed, Bianchi may alter his approach.

    Attending a Boca Juniors game

There is a 50-50 chance I will be in Buenos Aires on March 23, and would love to see a Boca Juniors game. They play Lanus that day.

Any tips on how to get tickets? Are all the games against every team at teh same itensity (in the stands)? Sold-out? Prices?

    I took a look at www.bocajuniors.com.ar

and I could not find any info about tickets. One can see the excitement in teh stands just by watching TV I cannot imagine how it is in person.

Any other experiences or stories would be more than welcome

    gracias

do not buy cheap tickets, the scum bags and truoble makers do.

the best source for that info is the taxi driver from the airport to the city......It work for me in all the traveling I did. Specially cuz' is current info....fresh

2 quick notes: Buy the tickets an 1hr or so before the game... for the middle sections, ala, let's say the 50 yard line in football. not in back of the goals.. If U go w/ someone from Argentina it will be a lot better...

Take lots of cab money.... The moment the taxi hears an American acsent... Your going for a ride all over Buenos Aires..

you can sit in the boca end if you are in the upper deck and sit near the top (view is great from there anyway). pretty mellow up there as compared w/ downstairs. if it's a big match (as it was when I went), and is sold-out, ask your hotel for a reference to a ticket agency (they also advertise in the paper). the one I went to was called "planteas y populares," or something like that.

feel free to email at nelson_o_matic@hotmail.com for more info. on my experience there.

Now that the U-20 in UAE is postponed, I imagined Bianchi will use Tevez in the Clausura and Gonzalez in the Copa Libertadores.

As for Braca, the reason he played in the Apertura was due to GBS being injured until the end and Papa Sosa having a scoring drought (he only scores for Gimnasia  ). Now that GBS and Celo are playing up front, it's difficult for Braca to get a starting spot. The only way IMHO Braca gets to start in a Clausura match if Bianchi was planing to rest either Delgado or GBS for the upcoming Copa match.

You also have to remember that the tactics and methods Bianchi is using are different from the ones Washington Tabarez used.

Yes Tevez wasn't included on Boca's list of available players in the first round of the Copa Libertadores because of his duties with the sub-20. Now that tournament has been postponed, Tevez will be back training full time with Boca and he'll play a lot in the Clausira matches. In fact he played this past weekend in Boca's game v Estudiantes.

For me though Tevez is more of a media punta than an enganche while Equi Gonzalez is more of a traditional playmaker (enganche). We'll see how Bianchi rotates the two as the season progresses.

As for Bracamonte, you haven't seen him recently because he's injured.

    ayer
