Lets see if somebody steps up today to make up for the absence of Gago and Centurion. Pablo Perez and Barrios are playing reasonably well, but they have not been difference makers like Gago is. Boca needs to take advantage of the chances it creates, because we can almost predict that at the other end the defense will let us down.

Excellent game. Gago really makes the difference. Granted, the opponent didn't play and allowed Boca to play at will, but still, the team is much more incisive when Gago is in the midfield. Barrios complements him very well. And Benedeto, when the ball gets to him, can score. And that kid Maroni is a pleasure. He is a Cordobes, from Instituto's youth program. Good think he came to play at Boca...porque gayina no es.
When your defense keeps stepping up to intercept balls and whiffing, you're gonna have a bad time. At least Gago just got one back with a golazo before break.

It was a garbage call by a garbage ref, but Boca played horrible and when you play horrible bad things tend to happen. When you play to hang on to a one goal lead, bad things tend to happen. Boca is not playing like a champion. We are lucky to still be in first place.
Very true. We are choking badly. Fortunately riBer didn't win so we have a one point cushion assuming they win their game in hand, but there is no reason to be sweating it this much. Guille needs to do something to get his team playing right again.
