I don't understand how they didn't score during that sequence.

Not sure about that possible handball but it would've been nice.

Just need a goal. Annoying that we're losing to two garbage ones.

You tied, you didn't win. You got through on penalties.

I guess Brazil didn't win the World Cup in '94 after all, then. :p

Grande Boca y grande Orion! I just can't with the likes of Perez and Chavez (to a much lesser extent) anymore. Gotta forgive Pavon for his stupid ejection after such a massive goal. I understand how you can lose your cool after such a rush of emotion.

They won the world cup, because of the rules. They didn't win the game against italy in the final. Just like you didn't win tonight.I'm just saying the facts. I'm proud to say that my team never needed the help of penalties to win a trophy. Your team meanwhile needed that help at least 5 times off the top of my head, probably more times I can't remember. I hope you enjoy it. Its a good strategy, but considering the financial advantage you have over uruguayan teams, you could at least win by a goal. If you recall, my team won 3-0 in brasil last year... My team meanwhile was at a financial disadvantage by 50 million dollars in the final, yet we won 3-0... Go figure.

    Desde el año 2000:

    Se jugaron 16 Copas Libertadores
8 veces Boca llegó a semifinales

Our last two Libertadores wins we did it without penalties, so we can go either way. When you play deep into tournaments regularly, those things are bound to happen, it's not really a strategy.

Boca va a jugar en la semifinal contra Independiente del Valle, verdugo de riBer. Los Ecuadorianos le ganaron a Pumas de Mexico en penales. El primer partido será en Quito y se define en La Bombonera.

    VAMOS BOOOOCA!!!

I can't wait for Copa Libertadores to resume.. IDV vs Boca is going to be a hell of a match ! But of course I'm rooting for IDV.. cuz I'm Ecuadorian.. when IDV defeated River Plate.. I literally cried TEARS OF JOY!! If IDV manages to defeat Boca.. I will cry tears of joy, AGAIN! Because Boca is a great team with lots of history.. so if an Ecuadorian club defeats Boca, it will be the HAPPIEST DAY OF MY LIFE!! Because FUTBOL IS PASSION!! It will be an honor for us Ecuadorians, to defeat a great team like BOCA JUNIORS.. an HONOR!

It would be quite a magical run to beat River and Boca in the same year. I hope it doesn't happen but respect all the same. :)

Possible starters on Thursday in Ecuador:

Agustín Orión; Gino Peruzzi, Daniel Díaz, Insaurralde and Frank Fabra; Pablo Pérez (or Andrés Cubas), Leonardo Jara and Fernando Zuqui; Darío Benedetto, Carlos Tevez and Nicolás Lodeiro.

Insaurralde looks to have recovered from an injury. Cubas is still in doubt.

    Likely lineup:

Apparently Peruzzi got injured so Tobio will take his place. These two sides have never met before according to the records I checked online. Playing in Quito is always a tough assignment, however.

GOOOOOOLLL DE BOCA! Perez puts us ahead slotting it just by the keeper off a nice little pass from Zuqui that finds him in the box. Huge road goal. 1-0.

Independiente look dangerous attacking us though. Going to have to absorb more pressure.

Low oxygen to the brain perhaps. :p

I think they are trying to conserve energy but are getting caught flat footed far too often. Need to pick it up a little bit and position themselves better instead of letting guys blow by them at full speed.

Ugh. Stoppage for light failure.

    Helps ruin Independiente's momentum though.
