Tevez on the play in which Ham was injured: "Tengo bronca porque fui a la pelota, no fui mal intencionado. Es un chico, la verdad que me pongo triste, porque no le quise hacer mal. Nunca le hice mal a nadie jugando al futbol. Ahora lo voy a ir a ver y pedirle perdón."
LOL... that was a clear deliberate foul, a dirty play with intent to injure. Tevez went in with his boot over the Ham's foot and with an open sole. He's an experienced international player, not a bloody amateur. What a disgraceful liar.
There is going to be a lot of shit talked about Carlitos. Especially by Boca haters. Those of us who play futbol know it is a game of risk, we go hard for the ball and we know we can get injured. As somebody I know tweeted, the only one who knows about the intention is Carlitos. It's up to us to believe him or not. I believe him.
I have a hard time believing he meant to, but I am biased as hell. I DO think it was ill advised, but it's easy to say that from a distance and the benefit of slow motion instant replay. I'm not going waste much energy trying to defend it, as I can see how it would be seen the other way. Really terrible injury though. Ham had a great game up to that point and it's a shame it ends that way. Hope he recovers soon.
A mediocre game for the most part, other than Tevez's brilliance. My scores: Orion 5: Lost and incredible ball that could have cost us and stayed stuck on the goalline when they scored. Other than that he was okay. Peruzzi 6: Did his job defensive, did not contribute much on attack. Tobio 5: Played hard but still looks a bit unsettled. Cata 5: The poor midfield play exposed his lack of speed. Monzon 4: After the strong effort against riBer he regressed. Largely responsible on their goal. Betancur 5: Still more promise than reality Cubas 7: This kid is for real. Always in the right place. Lodeiro 5: Great through pass on the second goal, but he was lost for much of the match. Palacios 4: His game doesn't translate to a short field. The one chance he had, he wasted. Tevez 8: Playing in obvious pain, he won the game with his brilliant goals and overall influence. Loses a couple for the dangerous challenge that ended in an unfortunate injury, but other than that he was a ten because he's the one carrying the team. Calleri 5: Extra point because he scored the third goal. Poor game otherwise. Colazo 5: Missed a chance and did little otherwise. Fuenzalida 7: In very few minutes made his presence felt.
I was ready to be mad at Tevez, after reading twitter and such. So I don't know what lead up to it, but to me in slo mo it doesn't look intentional. I usually give players the benefit of the doubt because at game speed its hard to do something that calculated, and this case is no different. It looked bad in real time though, but in slo mo not so much. What was bad though is he knew damn well hed ruined the kids leg and kept going all the way until the goal. Oh well. To me it was unintentional, but terrible.
Its hilarious how you keep writing River with a "b"... when you know we are the team with most points in the history of the league and in the copa libertadores.... But enjoy winning a 30 team league.....
I don't think he even realized the seriousness of the situation when he kept running. As soon as he realized it, he went and talked to Ham. There is also the fact that Tevez looked genuinely perturbed when he was talking to the media after the game. You could see it in his face. And today it's reported that he already went to visit Ham and he said he is going to follow his progress. It was a play that happened fast, a divided ball, and shit happens. I really hope Ham can recover well. By all accounts he's a good kid with a bright future as a player.
Are you serious? You are telling me that you are genuinely surprised that riBer is spelled with a B around here? I suppose selective memory must be a wonderful thing.
Are you ********ing kidding me? Points in the Libertadores is more valuable that actually hoisting the ********ing trophy? If we win the 30 team league then by all means I'll enjoy the ******** out of it...but what exactly does that say about riBer team that can't win a 30 man tournament. Seriously, are you girls going to even stay in the top ten by the end of it all?
He had to have known, he had the kids whole leg under his foot. I think it was viveza (which is ok, gotta do whatever it takes to win) because no one reacted to it on the field. Poor kid. Its gonna be a fun title race, Bocas got some tough games left too. I don't think San Lorenzo is that good, but they've won a tournament and libertadores being this mediocre so who knows.
