I spent some time with Union Berlin in the past couple weeks, and they're quite high on Bobby Wood, noting that he is quite a "special player" and that they see big things ahead for him. I reported on this here. He obviously is quite driven. Now, Union is convinced they'll soon lose him, so kind words can be mercenary, But he's finishing a very nice years, in a year when after a couple dry seasons, the US overseas strikers are looking quite tasty.
You might want to post this in the Wood thread (if you haven't already). Wood used to be quite hated around here when he first started getting caps, but actually he was always a highly rated prospect. He had his ups and downs with injuries and club issues. but he is taking steps to being that next level forward that some projected him to be
His movement, work rate and aggression was always top notch. His finishing on the other hand was shitty. Glad to say that is not the case anymore although I think he can still be wasteful. My comparison would be Stoke striker Mame Diouf.
He's been a great player for them. IMO, when I think of players in the US pool, he's different at least from what is available. I guess if the naturalization goes through, he's quite similar in approach (though, again, IMO a better version) to Dom Dwyer (who would be in the pool, though maybe needing a snorkel).
