http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/playoffs2003/story?id=1550082 This is fascinating to me on so many levels... -- Yes, the Kidds definitely use the son as a prop, and I cringed last year when I saw that toddler in a front-row seat at midnight during the NBA finals. They're worse than Dusty Baker with his batboy kid. -- The only reason why Jason is expected to stay in NJ next season is so that his wife can be closer to NBA.com and NBA TV in NYC. So yeah, she's an exhibitionist, for sure. -- Of course, this brings back up the whole Jason domestic abuse thing that got the Suns to trade him away in the first place. -- With all that said, Ryan's a jackass for saying this and Joumana's comments about it are more professional and restrained than I would ever have expected. Thoughts, anyone?
Didnt TJ break his collar bone the other day when Jason dove at a ball onto him? I would think that after that happening she would take him back a few rows.
Juwanna Mann was just an absolutely crap movie. It might -- might -- have been something if the producers and director had ever shown any indication at all that they had ever watched Some Like it Hot, but nooooo -- Oh. Wait. Joumana Kidd? Never mind.
MAN JASON KIDD's SON HAS A HUGE HEAD GOOD GOD!!! that kid has a HUGE head. pretty classless to be ripping on a 5 year old but holy christ that kid's head is the size of a basketball
To paraphrase Chris Rock, I'm not saying Bob Ryan should have said what he said, but <huge grin> I understand.
I think that Ryan has been getting too over stimulated by his rants on Kornheiser and Around the Horn. And he tried to be shock jock again and went over the line.
Basically, what Kevin said. Stupid thing to say, no question. Should have been taken back immediately when Bob Lobel gave him the chance, no question. A product of the let's push the envelope as far as we can mentality in the media today, little question. Bottom line, dumb comment and he'll pay the price long past the one month.
Yes. Interesting how Bob Ryan is in more trouble for saying he wanted to smack Mrs. Kidd than Mr. Kidd got into for actually hitting her.
Re: Re: Bob Ryan (and maybe you, too) wants to smack Joumana Kidd Ding ding! We have a winner! Actually, didn't Jason spend a night in prison? And the incident contributed to his leaving Phoenix. But still, Jason Kidd will continued to be worshipped by basketball fans and writers while Bob Ryan will forever be known as the "guy who wanted to smack Joumana Kidd."
Saw an interview with Jason Kidd and he said normally Jeremy Shockey sits in those seats, but for that one game his wife and kid sat there. Just bad timing/luck.
