Anybody see that goal? It's on both Sky and FSW. Unbelieveable. They show, like 6 different angles while the announcer just raves about Bakes' reputation, international quality and skill. Ball in from just inside the halfway, left side, McBride takes it about 35 out, one time on his chest, turns and volleys into the upper 90 right side. World class goal.
"just another for the old lady..." "I did something right for once!" Anyone else notice the press don't mention him being an ex-Crew player as much as he is a former Everton striker?
They refer to him as both... but probably Everton more, for obvious reasons. He did make his name for himself over there by playing for Everton. People pretty much knew who he was before, but never actually got to see him play until he played for Everton.
I think I noticed them mention the Crew once during the broadcast. I could be wrong, since I drifted in and out throughout the first half. As for that goal, when I saw it, all I could say was "Damnnnnnnn." Any more power and the shot would have sailed, any less and the keeper would have snagged it. The commentators kept on mentioning the Premier touch that the Fulham players were displaying; McBride was a perfect example. Also, did they mention Boca's sweet tap over to Hayles? That was true grit and determination in trying to keep that ball in play. Now, if Malbronk could get his head out of his @ss for a couple plays, the scoreline would be even more lopsided!
don't you hate how people would say Brian McBride formerly of St. Louis University instead of Brian McBride formerly of Wolfsburg?
About 90 percent of the time announcers on FSW refer to McBride (and Howard, and Boca) as "the American" ... With Howard it's usually after Manure get scored upon.
