"The Los Angeles Blues are proud to unveil their new logo for the 2012 USL PRO season and beyond. Designed in collaboration with Florida-based firm Dixon Minear Design Marketing, the crest pays tribute to the Blues’ roots in the city of Los Angeles while firmly reflecting the club’s dedication to a successful future in Orange County..."

So why haven't you changed your icon?

    That is classy.

A problem on BigSoccer's end, it seems like. The change was confirmed but isn't showing.

    Glad you like it :)

It may take a while to change.

Is it me or does it kind of look like a car brand?

Is nice, I can say better than the older one.

How would it look as a badge on a uniform? Are the Uniforms changing?

Love the logo. A hint of retro with a modern twist. It was obviously very well thought out in that every aspect incorporates LA, OC, and So Cal. One of the better logos I have seen in a while.

Oh, ok. Let's hope it will show the new logo at some point.

We definitely hadn't heard that one :)

    Glad you still like it!

We are currently in the process of finalizing our kits for 2012 and can't wait to see the new logo on there!

Glad to hear that! We're very happy that so far it seems like we've created something that our fans can identify with :)

Someone obviously read the entire press release :) Kudos for that, and glad you can appreciate all the thought that went into the new logo!

so, with FCNY gone, and the Blues with a new logo, which USLPro club now sits at the bottom of the logo table? Richmond? Harrisburg? Pittsburgh? a lot of competition still in the crappy USL logo league...

After looking at it for some time, it looks good. Does look like a logo for a fictional pixar car company but atleast you guys are taking the risk.

You will need to make some monochrome, outline-only versions of this. I would have used a serify font for BLUES. The gradients make this a bit noisy, too. Still, it is an upgrade.

It looks great. Can't wait to see it in Orlando on May 24th.

    I agree with everything here.

Definitely a huge upgrade, but the shiny metallic look isn't doing it for me. It makes it look like it's not a soccer crest, and the "pixar car brand", now that it has been mentioned, is a good way to describe it. Hopefully that's just stylized for the reveal and not for the actual crest.

Also, the LA/OC thing juts into the outline which looks odd, but perhaps that's my pseudo-OCD talking.

While on that topic, the LA/OC thing seems a bit, well, strange. I would imagine it would be hard, if one was unaware of where the team was from, to determine the club is from LA/OC. It just seems a bit contrived and ineffective.

The ideas are good, but I think less should be more in this case, and with a few tweaks could be a very nice crest. Solid colors, no metallics, bring the LA/OC thing out of the outline (perhaps change it a bit).

Just my two cents. Hopefully you guys get better crowds this year. I would love to see D2/D3 soccer thriving in SoCal.

That seems like a bit of a harsh assessment. Wouldn't you agree that most of the USL PRO logos look fairly professional now?

The second person to see the car connection. Interesting, that hadn't occurred to any of our staff :)

Good point about the monochrome, outline version. That is something that had been discussed prior to the unveiling of the logo and that is currently in the works.

That will indeed be a special game logo-wise, as both the Blues' and Orlando City's were created by the same firm, Dixon Minear Design Marketing in Florida.

Thanks for the thorough and constructive feedback. A lot of different designs, elements and colors were passionately discussed in the past few months, and ultimately we all had to realize that it's impossible to make everyone equally happy. So, we tried to come up with a logo that we thought the majority of our fans would be able to find some positives in. Glad to hear that seems to apply to you :)

We're extremely excited for the 2012 season and working very hard to create a great experience for our fans at the games!

Are we looking at a radical change (ala Galaxy every couple of years) or slight tweak? I’m not sure how other feel but I really like the uniforms from last year. Please don’t do an all white for home.

The Blues' new shield is a quantum leap. Really the only horrid logos in USL Pro now are Richmond, Harrisburg and Pittsburgh (in order, worst on). The shield Rochester has had in the past is preferable to their typical and current logo. The others are good to great, and the Blues now have one of the best.

At this point we can confirm that our home color will not be all white. Unfortunately we are not able to make any other comments concerning the changes, but our uniforms for 2012 should be unveiled soon.
