I have spoken with Curt about options for the Cauldron On Tour visit to Blue Valley Northwest. We have agreed that a section will be set up where we were the last time, hopefully roped off. Season ticket holders will be able to redeem each of their "Special Game A" tickets for *2* tickets to the Open Cup game. That's 2-for-1, homes. Tickets are regularly $10 for adults, $5 for kids. I told Curt that I would be willing to make a group order for those who want to have tickets in hand and are not season ticket holders; I don't know if they're doing other pre-sales. So, if you want to do this, let me know, and we can arrange it. We have to go out of our way to keep the language PG-rated at Blue Valley. I told Curt that we would make a special effort, in exchange for them guaranteeing a Cauldron section. In fact, I think we can have a top-to-bottom area if we can display enough interest (through a group sale and otherwise). So, keep that in mind...not that our language has really been a problem this year.
I've got season tickets to "trade in" for the game, but how are we going to go about deciding who goes in the "Cauldron section"? I mean, if we have to get them before hand to be in the Cauldron section I'll just buy a seat for that section and use my special game ticket for a regular game. Keep us informed! I love the idea, good work. Oh, of course this is all dependent on IF I'm sick on August 4th.
Oh, no, anyone can still get in. This separate buy is just a way to show Cauldron support for the game.
I'm forgoing Saturdays game so that I will be able to go the the OC game. I will need to order tix or graciously take a handout from a Season Ticket Holder for one of thier extras.
I need to look through the season tickets that we have to make sure we have the special A game ticket, casue my family only gets half pack tickets, a quick check through them didn't seem to bring out any of those special tickets. If I can't find the special game ticket, then I would go in to buy tickets for the match. No our language hasn't been much of a problem at all(cough)crap(cough), oh wait we can't say crap.
What time will the game be? I've been working till 7:30 most weekdays. I'm not that far from the BV complex. Count me in.
seeing as it's at a high school, is tailgating a problem? in other words, will alcohol pose a problem?
Alcohol is a no-no on school property, but I believe in the ATL game thread there was talk of hitting a bar near the school for after game celebrations
Rosana Square is not far away, there is at least one there, and a bunch of new developments on 135th street means there's probably one or two at least.
There's a Johnny's about half a mile, maybe a mile away, east on 135th. Probably the closest bar/restaurant.
And I used a big ass Chiefs mug. It might be a bit childish to sneak around drinking beer in non beer containers on school property, but hey... at least it's tailgaiting the proper way. I'm in for two tickets.
Any word on having a Cauldron section for ourselves? Will we be able to get tickets at this Wed's game?
Sam, if you are still taking orders for tickets, I would like one for the game, I couldn't find my special A game ticket in my season tickets, I can get you the money this Wednesday at the game if you are gonna be there.
Response to my email from CJ: ...STH's can get two tickets for their one special game A ticket prior to August 4. You can do that at the ticket windows or thru the office. Thanks .... and thanks to all for the large crowd in the Cauldron on Saturday night. I look forward to seeing another one on Wednesday as we look to take over first place. Curt
Well, there's one thing you wont have to worry about. Good luck in the USOC. After watching you guys in the last two games v. LAG, have to say you've got a super shot at going all the way in the USOC this year.
