    Lynden Gooch in the 18 against Guzan and Villa. We'll see if he gets his Premier League debut.

    Wow - didn't realize he was anywhere near making a Prem 18 squad.

    M'Vila scored a sick freekick on Guzan, not sure he could have done much better on it.

    ...and Richard's tries to block Len's shot and he deflects it past Guzan.

    that thread title :thumbsup::D

    No appearance today but the fact he is making 18s is definitely promising and we should see his debut in the coming games hopefully!

    Barry Glendening, of Guardian podcast fame and a Sunderland fan, shared a nugget about Gooch and another youngster being complimented for their effort in practice by one of the coaches. The implication being that some of the first-teamers..... have not been showing much.

    Well Defoe isn't a match for Advocaat's system and neither Fletcher or Graham have done crap for years. You would think Gooch could sneak in some minutes but lets see if his chances are spoiled by Sunderland bringing in a new striker before the window closes.

    Whatever the situation may be or may become, today is confirmation that he's working hard, impressing his coaches, and improving. Good to see.
