i have the biggest problem with blisters. does anyone know a good method to keep from getting them. don't try to get my shoes wet, but whenever i play, it's inevitable. i begin this nagging stingy feeling, like there's a pebble in my shoe, and then it gets painful and i can't really run. i wear very good boots/cleats but it doesn't matter. anyone have any helpful advice?
Two socks are definite. When I go on very long runs I tend to get blisters in the same spot. What I do is vaseline the spot and put tape or a bandaid over it. Usually does the trick.
What they said. Always use good quality socks - ones with high percentage of artificial fibers which tend to be lower friction. I use a no-cushion low cut running sock under my soccer socks. Shoes that fit well are also important. They should be snug all over, and not have sections where you slide around in.
put anti-perspirant on your feet I've heard about a study done with the US Marines, in that anti-perspirant on your feet reduced blisters. Also go to your local specialty running store, and see what products they have
If you have access to a sports training room have them put petroleum jelly followed by a square of foam over the blister, then tape in securely to the foot (I have sports medicine and training experience as well as soccer blister experience). Other than that, if you keep have recurring blisters, get a new pair of shoes.
