I'd definitely return for round two in Germany. Instead of taking my brother with me again, I'd bring my wife and two kids along. They'd be four years older and easier to tote around being 9 and 6 by 2010.

God, I still daydream about WC'06 sometimes. I wanted to stay forever.

I'm undecided on whether to attend the tournament in SA.

Germany was nuts, but I believe spreading the wealth a bit would be best for fans. Any country in Western Europe could probably pull it off no problem. Not sure countries in Latin America besides Mexico would have time to update stadium and infrastructure etc.

This can't be real,..Germany twice in a row? I doubt it, must be a troll.

If anything the Cup is coming back to the States. By far the most financially successful Cup in the history of Glory.

Why pay Euro prices when you can enjoy it for half the price here?

Because the time I had in Germany, with the atmosphere, the people, the stadiums, was surreal, and im still a little unsure that the US could pull it off like that.

yes the tournament here would be a financial success, and the game has grown so there will be a lot more passion and excitement around the games than there was in 94, but the widespread host cities causes a problem.

I would love to have it here though, after seeing the huge amount of US fans singing and chanting in Germany, the thought of 20,000 US fans here fillings the stadium and chanting and singing is just amazing.

    I loved Germany.
I want to go back to Germany.
I don't think Germany will be as good in 2010 as it was in 2006.

Now Greece, Spain, Holland/Belgium, England, or Italy would be more interesting to me.

In the end, 2010 needs to be not in Europe though. I'm good with every third cup in Europe and rotating between Americas and Asia/Africa for the others.

Glad I'm not the only one.

    About the article...

For some reason I want to call bullcrap. They don't present one quote from Blatter saying WC2010 will be in Germany. And if it were true, I think more mainstream news outlets would pick up the story, as opposed to Earth Times.

Sure, memories.. I have ethem too.. USA 94 was amazing. If there is another one here, the euros won't have a chance at the extra tix. I can Imagine 70K singing in a sold out stadium in Seattle. Bag going to Europe or Australia.

Korea 2002 was more fun than Germany 2006. I say that only to counter the belief that a Cup in the US wouldn't be as fun as Germany. The Koreans were the last people on Earth I expected to put on a good tournament, but their friendliness combined with some good results for the USA made that tournament the best.

Add a tick mark for me under the "anyone but Germany" column. I had a great time there, I like the country, I'd love to go back, but spread the wealth dammit. France-Korea/Japan-Germany-Germany -- what is wrong with that picture?

you know, it's odd, i kinda like it when it's not in the usa (!!). don't get me wrong, '94 was great and all, but hoofing it around our country is hard work compared to a (relatively) tiny germany or korea. plus, i just like going to other countries when they are in party mode.

if there is an emergency cup, i'd rather it be somewhere else. we wouldn't have enough time to set one up right on such short notice. we'd end up looking amateurish, and screw our chances for another 20 years or more. that said, if it did come here, i'd be all over it!

l don't blame any American for wanting to go check out another culture. CAnt want for the Copa America. But if you were to ask people from around the World to rate their 94' WC experience here in the States, I bet those opinions would rival that of Euro WC's. I met Euros and S Americans at USA 94' who couldnt gush enough about the good times they were having.

Most of the footwork to get the ball rolling -if one were to relocate WC 2010, would be getting the Stadium owners on the same page. -And due to the growing TV ratings I bet they'd shelve Oprah to Show the WC.

All the major stadiums -that could host matches of 60K of more- are vacant n June and July.

If you havent noticed some big hitters in this country are buying up the Premier league...The only people who don't want another WC here in the States is big league Baseball.

I figure this tme WE can scalp the tickets and the Euros can pay bigtime.
