Heard stories about the carabao/kerbau. Gentle giant with children, helpful to those they know, terrifying to anyone who tries to attack them. They're a big totem in Southeast Asia, with a rep for being smart and caring. Who knows.

Don't hate it. If he establishes himself well there he could push on like what we are seeing with the interest in CCV.

Selfishly I would love to see a CCV and Trusty pairing at Celtic. Trusty at LCB and CCV and RCB. Celtic would win 100% of all aerial battles and have two players who can move the ball on the pitch with confidence.

Started at LCB and looks like he is going the full 90.

Lots of chatter across X rhat Celtic have launched an initial bid for Trusty. Celtic have been trying to wheel and deal the last few days wanting to reinvest the money earned from the Matt O’Riley sale to Brighton. With the new Champions League format this season, Brendan Rodgers has prioritized the CL and they are looking to add quality to make a run. We’ll see if it actually comes to fruition. We’ve heard that talk before….

Barnsley 1-0 Sheffield Utd in EFL Cup play. Trusty subbed on today at 62', and later this happened ...

"Another {Sheffield} United man linked with a move away and thought he’d got the Blades back on level terms when he challenged Slonina and saw him drop the ball into his net, but the referee came to Slonina's rescue and gave the foul."

If this does go through, I think this could take until the 11th hour to complete. All the Celtic news and people I follow, seem to be confident an agreement can get reached but time is ticking.

Celtic plays four at the back and their CB pair Scales-CCV is solid. I guess he may be playing RB but Johnston is also solid there. He gets tired though.

    Why?

He's a left-footer who's never played RB at any level, anywhere. LM a few times, but never RB

Yeaaaaah….. Scales is a punching bag for many, many Celtic supporters. He frightens many Celtic supporters when they think of him vs Champions League sides. Although, this Celtic supporter has other things that worry / frighten about in the CL. Rodgers is trying to fix some of those issues. Scales is fine against SPFL clubs. To be honest, I don’t think he’s as bad as Celtic supporters claim but he ain’t good. Though he’s been in decent form this season. CCV sweeps up and masks many of his errors that go unpunished in the SPFL. Trusty would be an upgrade. Everything I’ve read indicates he would push Scales to the bench.

I feel CCV and Scales complement each other well.

As for the Champions League, let's be honest: making group is as good as it gets for Celtic.

Remember…… new format for CL. No longer a group stage. It’s a league stage. You get 8 matches. 4 home. 4 away. All against different clubs. The top eight sides in the league will qualify automatically for the round of 16, while the teams finishing in 9th to 24th place will compete in a two-legged knock-out phase play-off to secure their path to the last 16 of the competition. Teams that finish 25th or lower will be eliminated, with no access to the UEFA Europa League. That’s why there’s been an emphasis on Celtic to add depth so they can compete.

Yeah. He's played a few times for Ireland and he's been . . . OK. At best. I can't see him being any obstacle to a top Championship player, which is what Trusty was at Birmingham.

I'd dearly love Trusty to leave Sheffield. The manager is dedicated and a club legend but the ownership has been dysfunctional for years. Things could turn toxic there

This guy is claiming it’s done. I’m not skeptical per se, I just haven’t seen others confirm. I believe this is same guy that broken the news on Celtic’s recording signing Arnie Engels. We shall see….

Let's get another player in the Champions League!

CELTIC will play Aston Villa (away), Leipzig (home), Borussia Dortmund (away), Club Brugge (home), Atalanta (away), Young Boys (home), Dinamo Zagreb (away), Slovan Bratislava (home).

I think Celtic is about the level of a club in the top half of the championship.

six of one. Half dozen of another.

It’s pretty much a lateral move all things considered. SPFL is a weaker league then the championship but Celtic are a massive club with quality in the squad and 8 CL games to play so that helps.

I do probably prefer a player play 46 games in the championship.

    I heard it was close.

But I am curious what Celtic's plans are for Trusty. If he's a starter or a potential starter, that works. If he is primarily a guy who will start against the St. Mirren's of the SPL so the main guys can be rotated to concentrate on the UCL and Old Firm games, then it won't be a great move for him.

It's early. We'll know more soon.

Subject to being completed, at the reported price…. I’d be willing to bet the plan is to pair him with CCV sooner than later. Celtic have splashed some cash after a couple nice sales. Poor Matt O’Riley, though. The feeling I get is that they arr throwing their eggs in a basket with the new CL format. They’ve done and said the crap soooooo many times and it’s backfired miserably. However, they tried to do on the backs of some higher profiles loanees, free transfers, and small transfer fees. This is the first time in a long while they’ve actually backed up that talk with spending. Scales is replaceable and it may take a few weeks but Trusty will be the replacement.
