Get FIFA 2011. I hope Roy sticks around one more year just so EA Sports can install the rub-my-face-like-a-ferret reaction.

If it's in the game - its in the game.

Back to the bread and butter issues.

Gerrard is out of this one-- I hope Dalglish reminds him of his responsibility to the team. This necessitates a re-jigging of the starting line-up, and I hope the rest of the yeomen rise to the challenge.

    --------------------------Reina-------------------------
    --Kelly---------Skrtel-------------Agger--------Aurelio---
    ----Johnson-----Lucas---------Meireles-----------Kuijt----
    --------------Babel/N'gog-------------Torres-------------

Subs:- Gulasci, Kyrgiakos, Shelvey, Jovanovic, Babel/N'gog, Pacheco, Konchesky (tempted to select Robinson).

No more backing off Charlie Adams nor collapsing to around our 18-yard box hoping for a counter-strike, please. Press 'em up the pitch and support the man on the ball. Pass and move, and attack!

I would pick a very similar team. Although, I would have Kuyt playing up front with Torres. Maxi, Babel, or Jovanovic on the left (our weakest position IMO).

I agree that Johnson should play in midfield and Pacheco should make the bench.

This would be my pick. Press all over and hit them with quick attack on the deck. Really Kenny will only have Tuesday to do any training so it'll mostly have to be chalk talk and individual instruction

We are only in two competitions. Our squad can handle this. let's climb up the table some now.

Curious to see if Dani Pacheco (or Suso, for that matter) starts to make the bench. Many of us have been clamoring for him, writing off his exclusion as one of Uncle Woy's shortcomings, but I'm willing to bet most of us hold Kenny's opinions in higher esteem. Obviously there were limitations with what the King could do today, lineup-wise, but I was a bit surprised to see how short we were on attacking options. Down to ten men, we couldn't have done much, but Pacheco is certainly someone we'd rather see as a late-game substitute rather than Babel.

At the very least, I'm glad to be back looking forward to watching Liverpool games. I didn't ever stop watching our games, but I'd be lying if I said I enjoyed watching us under Woy.

Excited enough that I will be skipping the afternoon on Wednesday for a game for the first time in several months....

Before Hodgson was fired, I had this chalked up as a loss, a draw if we were lucky.

Nice to know we have a chance in away matches now.

Not to mention he's familiar with the talent coming out of Melwood. If he doesn't rate Pacheco, then I'm not sure if any manager will. Though I'm guessing for yesterday at least, there just weren't enough time to throw in a new body into the mix.

Blackpool have the lowest pts gained at home this season in the division with 8 pts gained. Although they have also played the fewest home games of all teams so far due to home games being cancelled due to snow. Blackpool have won twice at home this season and if they do the double over us it will be another big shock.

At Anfield, we literally invited them to come up to our 18-yard box and play their little triangles. I'm hoping that we are not going to be so indulgent this time, even if it's away from home.

the best was that Holloway flat out warned us that he was going to come and attack us (already knowing that Roy was a shit manager and would be happy to sit back). As noted - Roy obliged.

you have to read his story about his 3 completely deaf daughters and the change as a person he has gone through over the last several year - very touching.

Yeah, that really got to me....you could feel the respect he has for him. Good interview. Still want to beat the crap out of them though no matter how entertaining Holloway can be.

Gonna take a shot at the squad:

    -----------------------Reina
    Johnson ----- Skrtel ----- Agger ----- Aurelio
    ------------Lucas---------------Meireles
    Kuyt ---------------- Cole ------------- Maxi
    ---------------------Torres

Although, I'd like to see Kelly at RB and Johnson on the wing with Kuyt on the bench for Torres relief.. Really want to see J. Cole actually do something in this game and justify his place.

I think the only question is whether Cole and Kuyt are where you have them or swapped with each other. Other than that, I think that (barring injury) this will be the squad.

That is probably the team, but Cole might be out with a slight injury.

And Johnsons wife might still be giving birth.

its going to be interesting to see who gets shots when and where amongst babel, jovo, cole, maxi, shelvey, kelly, pacheco and ngog. Kenney's watched every game this year I'm sure, so hes probably got some opinions already.

God i hope we win this big time.

Snow day tomorrow! I get to see the entire match live.

I'm really excited to see matches again. Its a good feeling. I'm expecting a good performance, even without Gerrard.

Jim Boardman says on Twitter that this is the line-up:

    Pepe
    Kelly Skirt Agger Wilson
    Johnson Raul Lucas Maxi
    Kuyt Torres

Interesting if true. Konchesky still out with "dead leg", and apparently Cole not fit either. Maybe Aurelio can't go on short rest and is being saved for the derby. Not sure why else Wilson would be out there.

I was actually thinking it'd be great to see Kelly remain at RB and have Johnson on the wing... especially after seeing both their last performances.

Hopefully that lineup is the real deal... can't wait for the match, better set the alarm! :)

rumored team from another RAWK poster matches this:

    Team for tonight -
    Reina
    Kelly
    Skrtel
    Agger
    Wilson
    Johnson
    Lucas
    Raul
    Maxi
    Kuyt
    Torres

As noted - a lot of us have been clamoring for Johnson at RB to see what he can do when relieved of full defensive resp.

EDIT: Latest says that Johnson is still a doubt depending on the status of his gf's delivery situation.
