As many people who support Blackpool or division 2 club they might know that Blackpools manager is having rough times as he no longer desires to manage the club. but he still is there and i think we should get rid. any one else with a different view?
Did seem a bit odd, especially given his time to change his mind. Still it couldn't upset the team enough for the game the following week. Probably best to consider an alternative if he doesn't really want to be there.
I dont blame McMahon, Oyston is a man with very little knowledge of the game, he would happily allow Blackpool to stay in Div 2 mediocrity forever as long as the club was making himself money, McMahon is an ambitious man who is the right man to lead us forward on the pitch, nearly everyone i have spoke to backs Macca because they can see how unreasonable Oyston is but you still get The Shitrag Gazette saying the fans are mostly with Oyston (I was at Wycombe and that clearly wasnt the case). Why cant Oyston see that if we get the 2-3 extra players we desperatley need, we would be in a better position. Considering are squad size, we are definatley overachieving, and i wouldnt like to think where we would be without Taylor having the season of his life. I hope McMahon stays, he inherited a lifeless squad that had been nearly destroyed under Nigel Worthington, however he took us back up the next season, playing some of the best football i have seen, we then won the LDV, we could do it again this season, but we seem to have reached are level in the league. Unless we can sign some quality players, but like i said Oyston will not free up some cash for the team, which truly is strange since we are one of only a few teams who are operating in the black and have been for many years. Its Oyston who should go because he clearly hasnt got Blackpool FC in his best intrest.
I agree he is inexpierienced at chairman. But how many people would want to take over a cashstrapped club.I was also at the wycombe game it was a good result 0-3 with another taylor goal. i still think that there is something missing from anywhere on the pitch.we have a mixed age team but we only have a few players that really stand out(Scott taylor, Danny coid,Richie Wellens and steve elliot.) all the other players are good but lack the final edge. We started with a good loan sighning of Tony Dinning.we need a few good results and another trip to cardif to round the season off. Come on pool
But you see, Blackpool is not a cash strapped club, this is where Maccas argument lies. Why can other clubs in worst finacial situations than ourselfs go out and buy players, when we, a financially sound and profitable club cant buy anybody. I write this, after listening to Blackpool get beat 3-0 by a club with very little money, yet still about to sigh Grimsby Town striker Boulding, why cant we buy? We had 9 players out tonite and had to include a 16 yr old keeper as back-up. Karl Oyston is a complete cretin and for any other people who stumble across this thread about are club, here is a list of Karl Oyston being a money hungry moron with no intrest in the team. *Naming a stand The Pricebusters Matthews stand, surely the most crass and disrespectful thing i have have seen. Surely a legend such as Sir Stanley Matthews dosent deserve second billing to a discount store? Why couldnt it be The Stanley Matthews Stand as sponsored by Pricebusters. *Refusing to pay for any signs to go outside the ground to show people that its actually a football club, all the clubs i go to have big club badges and large letters telling you what ground your at. Our ground looks like Asda without any club badges or signs. *Out of the 1.75 million we recieved for Brett Ormerod, Oyston allowed a whooping £125,000 to be spent on team strengthning, however prior to his sale to Southampton, Oyston stated that 4 players were in place to join as soon as Ormerod left. *Or how about changing the Beer they serve before and at half time at matches from Carling to a cheaper alternative, yet still have the gall to charge an extra 10p Oyston has surely made enough money out of the club and will only go on to bleed us dry. I wish he would *#*#*#*# off tomorrow.
well look at leeds they lost all their money and they went into administration. but i agree that we have not brought in anybody that. another reason the oyston did not spend money on players is that he is obsessed with finishing off our stadium. i believe that it should be players 1st then stadium if we get promoted. whats the point of having a 25,000 seater stadium when we cant fill half our one now. We need to sort it. the players are also starting to lose it and if they want to win the ldv then they need to beat teams like Barnsley because sheffield are good. Get rid of carl oyston
That is part of the reason why you are not a cash strapped club. After nearly going under in the early 90's we had that policy, and it was going reasonably well. Break it, and suddenly we end up in adminstration for a year, and dropped out the League yet again.
Good point, but i believe you have to spend money to make money. For example if we would of bid £250,000 for Danny Shittu when we had him on loan, he would be ours. Now look at him, Nigerian international and worth at least 1 million. Fast forward and we have Peter Clarke, a similar amount would prise him away from Everton, but will we sign him, no way, even though not only would he bring stability to the back four, but also if we ever sold him on we would definatley recoup on the transfer because he is that damn good! I dont expect this to compute with Karl Oyston because common sense has never been his thing.
Well look at the past couple of weeks. loss to QPR Draw with swindon loss to Barnsley.we have a couple of Injuries and we are done for the season. Our squad is not exactly the biggest in the world and on our subs bench today we hade the youth team. And what the hell was richie wellens thinkin we were winnig and then to get sent of is the most stupidest thing to do! Hopefully we will keep scottie taylor cus he is the best player we have had since Brett ormerod. Get rid of OYSTON
It could be worse. At least Blackpool still exists. Probably not something we'll be saying about Leeds, Lincoln and some others by the end of the summer.
it still makes me sad that at the moment there is Future for Blackpool and other div2,3 and con clubs because they are not using there money wisely. Get rid of oyston
Blackpool are a million light years away from a situation like Leeds and Lincoln, what we have at Blackpool is a case of the chairman not spending money on squad strengthning even though we can afford to. Under Karl Oyston this club will never go into administration, however, under Karl Oyston we will never get out of the 2nd division.
How many people will spend money on a club like Blackpool? There are people out there that have the money to put in to a div 2 club. Look at Telford they had a multi millionaire take over and even though they are not doin too well in the league they know that there owner will spend some cash to make improvements. we need more money in division 2 so that if clubs want to splash out on players they dont need to worry about there cash flow.
The Oyston Family is worth 90 million pounds, yet they still wont put any of there own money towards squad strengthning. Another thing that annoys me about Karl Oyston is that he will openly admit to being not a football kind of guy. Hello! Is this the same Mr. Oyston that is the chairman of Blackpool Football club. How can McMahon ask Oyston for help on a football related matter (such as squad strengthning) when everything he would say would sail straight over Oystons head.
What the hell is the point in owning a football club when u r not even in to it. all he wants is money!! we want rid of oyston and get someone who is willing to get money into the club!
Well Karl Oyston hardly got into his position at Blackpool due to his love of football. Is his dad still inside? Anyway, I think there needs to be more chairmen like him, being sensible with a clubs money, and his own. Rather than those who take risky gambles that can ruin the team if they fail.
Exactly, so why is he our chairman, he has zero ambition for the playing side of things. And Owen Oyston is not in jail, and hasnt been for some time now. There is being cautious, and then theres being overly cautious! We are no way near any finacial problems, we need to spend to progress overwise we will just stagnate, and players like Wellens, Coid and Taylor will not be around because they will not be prepared to stick around with an un-ambitious club. And another thing, in my local paper, a mystery fan has donated 15grand to go towards player strengthning, he will sign over the check as long as another 15grand is raised by other fans, so how can a fan afford to put that much money towards the club when the Multi-millionaire Oyston family wont put up anything.
