An un-named trialist in tomorrow afternoon's match at Accrington. A central defender, he is in his second week with the club. Striker Stephen McPhee makes his first appearaence since suffering knee ligament damage in November. He is joined by first teamers Danny Coid, Joe Martin, Stuart Green, Jermaine Wright and Danny Mitchley as well as recent signing Francesco Carratta. Also Charlie Adam made a request to play in the game to get some competitive football before his return to first team action at Bristol City on Saturday, following his three match suspension. The team tomorrow is from - Mark Halstead Danny Coid A Trialist Ashton Bayliss Joe Martin Stuart Green Francesco Carratta Jermaine Wright Charlie Adam Danny Mitchley Stephen McPhee Ashley Eastham Steve Ralston Jake Hobbs Ben Fishwick Billy McKenna
Reserve team manager Gary Parkinson confirmed a strong line-up for this afternoons match - Mark Halstead Danny Coid Ashton Bayliss A Trialist Joe Martin Stuart Green Francesco Carratta Jermaine Wright Charlie Adam Stephen McPhee Danny Mitchley Subs: Ashley Eastham Steve Ralston Jake Hobbs Ben Fishwick Billy McKenna The club have confirmed that the central defender trialist is English, and that he has been with Blackpool for two weeks. The result will hopefully come in later today.
Accrington Stanley 2 Blackpool 4 Two goals from Charlie Adam, and one each from Danny Mitchley and Stephen McPhee saw Blackpool record a 4-2 win. Not only that but Adam, who asked to play today, scored a spectacular goal from the just inside the halfway line! Blackpool started the match with seven players who have first team experience, but it was Accrington who scored first when winger Kallum Higginbotham scored from a free-kick. The Seasiders soon equalised though with Charlie Adam scoring his first goal in tangerine, with a low shot. Blackpool finished the half stronger, although Mark Halstead tipped over a curling free-kick from Stanley's Robert Grant. Just five minutes into the 2nd half Charlie Adam put Blackpool into the lead with a spectacular goal. He got the ball, jsut inside the Stanley half and curled an impressive finish over Accrington keeper Matthew Ince. Moments later Stephen McPhee missed a great chance from 3 yards, sending his shot flying over the bar. He made amends though when he made it 3-1 with a well taken finish after Jermaine Wright and Danny Mitchley linked up, with Mitchley reversing a great pass into McPhee's path. The hosts pulled a goal back on 67 minutes with another curling free-kick from Robert Grant. But on 75 minutes Danny Mitchley added a 4th goal to give Blackpool a 4-2 win.

A very young and inexperienced reserve team, made up mostly of youth team players, with only Jermaine Wright with any real first team experience were hammered 6-1 at Bloomfield Road on Wednesday. Francesco Carratta missed the match after picking up a groin injury in training on Monday and an un-named American trialist, a defender, was included in the starting line-up. Jake Hobbs scored Blackpools solitary goal. The reserve team should have played Burnley at Accrington Stanley's Fraser Eagle Stadium this evening but the game was postponed. It was called off due to the pitch being "unplayable". A date has yet to be arranged for when the game will now take place.

Blackpool beat table toppers Manchester City 4-1 this week with a hat-trick from Stuart Green. (Not that it will do his Pool career any good as he is one of a number of players who are expected to be released at the end of the season. Youngster Lewis Almond got the other goal. Pool lineup: Mark Halstead Jermaine Wright Danny Coid David Fox Ashley Eastham Ian Evatt Matty Kay Francesco Carretta Lewis Almond Stephen McPhee Stuart Green Subs: Jake Newsham Jake Forshaw Billy McKenna Kieran D'Arcy Potts (Don't know his first name)
The Seasiders reserve team take on Tranmere Rovers at Bloomfield Road tomorrow. Kick-off is 7pm. Jermaine Wright, Matty Kay, Francseco Carratta, David Fox and Stuart Green are all expected to play.

Final score 2-2. The visitors opened the scoring in the 1st half after Pool failed to clear a corner. A pass from David Fox led to the penalty from which the Seasiders equalised. He passed to Carratta, whose run into the Rovers penalty area was blocked and a penalty was awarded, which Stuart Green converted. After 25 minutes of the 2nd half Lewis Almond gave Blackpool the lead with a fantastic finish from the edge of the penatly area, following neat work from Carratta. With 5 minutes to go, Rovers were level. The reserves next game is on Monday 27th April when they take on Burnley at Accrington Stanleys ground.
The reserves lost 4-1 to Burnley last night, and the result means that the Clarets were crowned champions. Not that you would know from checking Blackpool's official site, I had to get it from Burnley's official site.
The reserves last match of the season is at Bloomfild Road tonight against Morecambe, at 7pm. Blackpool will again field a very young side with no first teamers and mostly youth team players. Gary Parkinson is using the game to give experience to several youngsters who will be joining the club on a scholarship basis next season. Francesco Carratta will be given the chance to stake a claim for a place on the first team coach to Swansea on Sunday. The Reserves 4-1 win over Manchester City has seen the side awarded the leagues Performance of the Month Award for April. The trophy is likely to be presented at the first home game of the 2009-10 season.

Quite who will be playing in the opening game on Monday is anyones guess. Right now the 1st team squad contains just 17 fit players (and that includes David Vaughan who is playing with a broken toe). There are two un-named foreign players on trial, so presumably if they are still around, they will play, but given that Ian Holloway will not want to risk some 1st team players getting injured I can see the reserve team on Monday being made up mostly of youth team players.
A very young, inexperienced Reserves lost their opening fixture 7-3 to Carlisle United. The only first team squad players were Ishmel Demontagnac and Al Bangura, with the team made up mostly of youth team players. Blackpool line-up: Chris Kettings Adam Foster Jake Rooney Al Bangura Bill Breakall Adam Mitter Thomas Barkhuizen Ishmel Demomntagnac Louis Almond Troy Hewitt (trialist) Jamie Sheldon Subs: Liam Thomsett Joseph MacDonald Kurt Bradley Joe Potts (GK)
The next Reserve team fixture is at home to Tranmere Rovers on Wedesday 9th September, kick-off 7:00pm. I think the match will be at Bloomfield Road.
First teamers Matt Gilks, Al Bangura, Joe Martin and Billy Clarke will play tonight, as will former Scottish Youth international Brian Gilmour. A 22 year old midfielder, he has played for Clyde and Queen of the South in Scotland and was playing in Finland until May 2009 with FC Haka. He is currently on trial with the Seasiders and is hoping to impress tonight. Also included in the starting line-up are two first year scholars Biko Younda and Thomas Barkhuizen, with more on the bench. So, whilst there are four first team players, again the Reserves squad is mostly young and inexperienced. Blackpool line-up: 1. Matt Gilks 2. Ben Breakall 3. Jake Rooney 4. Al Bangura 5. Biko Younda 6. Joe Martin 7. Thomas Barkhuizen 8. Billy Clarke 9. Louis Almond 10. Brian Gilmour 11. Joseph MacDonald Subs: 12. Adam Foster 13. Chris Kettings 14. Josh Roberts 15. Liam Tomsett 16. Adam Mitter
There was a late change to the starting line-up with the addition of a second trialist - French striker Vincent Péricard.
And about five weeks later, the reserves are finally about to play again tonight. They are away to PKE, with the game to be played at the QED stadium, the home of Northern Premier League Division One North side, Bamber Bridge. Kick-off is 7:00pm and the game will see the return to action of midfielder Ishmel Demontagnac following his torn hamstring. Ian Evatt is on the bench following his hamstring strain and is expected to play the second half. On loan defender Marcel Seip will make his first appearance in a strong line-up. Pool team: Matthew Gilks Ben Breakell (*) Joe Martin Marcel Seip Ash Eastham Al Bangura Ishmel Demontagnac Louis Almond (*) Danny Mitchley Billy Clarke Jay Emmanuel-Thomas Subs: Mark Halstead (GK) Ian Evatt Adam Foster (*) Jake Rooney (*) Kurt Bradley (*) (*) Youth team players
