*sigh* I bet it was one of those mediocre wrestlers. Actually, I'll just pretend it was Eddie Guerrero, just for the funny visual.

Dangerous ball in, Traore with a header, Gallagher with a volley, put over. C'mon ladies, buckle down. 88'.

    More dawdling now.

Diouf smokes Gallagher, Murphy, Heskey into the area, Kewell, TLT at the back posts, hooks it back to Murphy, put away by Babbel. 90'

  3. Whoa! Save that incantation for a Cup Final!!!!

Diouf, back heel to Riise, Heskey, edge of the box, has a go, straight into God's arms.

Kirkland has to come out to stave off Cole.

4 minutes of stoppage time. This isn't Old Trafford, Mike.

Kewell, to Heskey, Murhpy, Hamman, Diouf, Murphy, Kewell, Hamman, Diouf, takes on Emerton, Biscan, Murphy, Kirkland. Do-dee-do . . .

Ferguson past Murphy, Johansson, blocked by Hamann, great ball up, Kewell loses it.

TLT bursting down the left, Riise, Kewell, Riise beats two, Ferguson clears.

Can I go back to work yet? This has seemed like 30 minutes of stoppage . . .

TLT plays in Kewell, can't get away from Babbel.

Blackburn onside, Emerton, Cole, misses it, Yorke with the cleanup, puts it away. 3-4. 95'.

That was the last kick. 3-4. Full time. We're through. Should have been 1-7. Oh well.

Draw for the next round is in 60 minutes.

Diouf deserves 2 MoMs for this one. Class.

Lots of fun. Thanks to SuperElf for the comms. Finally got us a win. Christ, why did we have to leak the last two? Also, Madden is right never fool around with a PK -- it'll more than likely bite you in the ass.

Maybe all those wankers who want

  10. Brilliant game. Great result. And I'm really glad to see that Traore gave an excellent accounting for 90 minutes, since I had talked him up for the last week or so.

Everyone seemed great, except maybe Sami (hurt?)and Igor, who seemed ordinary. Diouffy gets MotM.

I believe the Fourth-Round Draw is going to be announced in an hour or so. . .

i would have hated to say "i told you so" about the heskey PK...but i almost had to say i told you so. absolute lunacy, worrying about a hat trick with a result still in the balance. but a win is a win, and it's great to hear diouf played so well. we don't need no water, let the m*****f***** burn.

    Nice job with the comms

A nice way to skive off work for a few hours. Good to see a few goals going in without St. Michael on the pitch.

Because I was doing comms. We're lucky a fissure didn't open up in the middle of the field and swallow half our squad with five minutes left, just to ensure we didn't get the result . . .

I would pay good money to hear the Kop sing this.
Diouf, Diouf Diouf is on fire...

Thanks for the comms. A lot of fun.

It's good to score four, looks like we should have around eight or so, but whatever. I agree with Mark, you have to think about the team's scoreline, not your own, but at the same time, I want Heskey to get some goal scoring confidence back. But whatever, we won...

Hopefully, resting Owen will work for Sunday.

Anyone have an update on how Hamman did??

  22. That thread has gotten pretty quiet over the last week or so.

yeah, thanks for the comms. i probably don't say that enough. despite the late pseudo-comeback by blackburn, that's a big road win, especially in a cup situation. if we can beat fulham -- no easy task -- then we will actually be on some semblance of a roll. great to see hamann get a run out. if he can get fit soon and get in the back of the midfield diamond -- which puts gerrard in the front of the diamond -- we inch closer and closer to our ideal lineup, at least until milan and carragher get back. i know pessimism tends to rule boards like this, and i'm certainly as guilty of that as anyone, but when we have our whole team, we're as good as anyone.

i do a sports radio show 3-7 pm eastern time, and i follow the weekday games via the comms on this board and sometimes at soccernet.com. if you know i'm a liverpool fan, you can tell who's winning by my mood on the show. i always play YNWA for the show's close. today i played it a little earlier. i REALLY wanted this game.

worst on-air moment...grimsby scores in extra time to knock us out of the worthy cup two years ago. digesting this from the 'net, i scream "F***!" at the top of my lungs and shatter a coffee cup off the wall. thank god for 7-second tape delay.

Thanks you guys, that was so much more fun. Got here late, again, so I got to read it all in it's entirety. Fun way to do it actually, Perhaps Super Elf should try it...!!!
    Neil goes home
    Emile gets 2
    Dog saves a PK... "shyte"
    El Haj is MOM
Bit of a bummer them coming back with 2 more BUT we'll take it.
Booalton could be fun. But let's sort out Fulham and Manure first.

Interesting with all the comms. I thought we had 3 PK's and 6 goals...Oh well!
    When a guy doesn't want to take a PK, there's a reason.
