Maybe I missed it but no one seems interested in tommorrow's match. Before losing collective cool here, note the word SEEMS.
A tricky one. Rovers have been a bit of a bogey side since Wenger came on, especially last year. And they gave us a good fight in the cold at Highbury right before Christmas, losing 1-0. So this could be a nervy affair, especially as Souness seems to genuinely dislike our players, as we saw him gesturing at Pires and others from the technical area. Still I think we should come through it by 2-0 or 2-1, maybe even 3-1. They really have nothing in mid-field for us, and even without Edu who should be congratulated as well as his wife on the birth of their baby, but with Vieira back close to if not at his best we should dominate the mid-field battle and shade each half. The nice part is with Chelsea and ManU likely to drop points in their matches, a win could all but seal the Championship, if only in those teams minds, and make this tricky stretch considerably less difficult to navigate, which can't hurt. Best of luck to the team and the away support for another important win tommorrow!

    A bit of exhaustion...

... is what I feel after all the excitement of the last couple of weeks. I certainly haven't given Blackburn much thought.

While such a lapse is tolerable from a fan, it would be very unprofessional for Arsenal. I talk heart in the fact that such slips in focus seem not to be in the cards for this year's team. Each game, they have come out with a singular mind bent on winning, and they have performed like this game is the only thing they've talked about since the final whistle the week before. I thought even when Chelsea opened the scoring in each match, Arsenal thereafter took control and never really gave it up. The confidence--devoid of cocky swagger--reaches out to the fans. All credit should go to Ashley Cole, whose dying minutes winner against Kiev in November set them on this course.

I really believe that goal can define this season. Maybe they don't hit Inter for 5 in Milan and they therefore go out of the CL at the group stages. And without that boost, I think they lose at home to Fulham definitely.

You are right to point to Blackburn as the bogey team. Stead has played well since his debut. But for my money, Emerton is the real danger man when he gets forward. He created plenty of chances for Blackburn to pull it out at Highbury.

The bitterness of failure last season shadows this squad all the way through this spring. I know Arsene will not let anyone count the chickens yet.

I sadly will not get to watch until the 16th because FSW is playing it on the long delay. I also wish the away support luck and I can't wait to hear them cheering on the team.

3-0 Arsenal. Blackburn are due a good spanking from us. And Reyes opens his league account.

This is going to be the first match I haven't seen live (either in person or on TV) all season, I'm going to be on a plane to the US. I hope the Bolton game's on next week!

I'd love to see a clean sheet in this one...no late slip-ups and we take it 2-0 all the way home!!

Well, in all my years of watching football.. i've never seen that clever trick done by Henry..
just nicked it from freidels goal kick... should of been allowed.. just when you think you've seen everythign... leave it to titi to make me awestruck... at any rate.. we will get a goal here... maybe win 1-0..
unlucky really... gilberto has been dissapointing AGAIN... i mean, but in fcuking bentley or something.. anyone on that wing.. throw kanu upfront and move reyes on the wing..
i guess we play "total football" so our shape is always changing.. i do love it when titi gets the ball rite round the center stripe.. at any rate...
hope you dallas gooners are getting tanked at the st paddy's day phestie on greenville~~~~
umm... come on you FCuking gunners~

    Helloooooooooooooooo????????

Anyone awake and watching, but me here.

    0-0 at HT

Blackburn dominate early, Arsenal most of he remainder of the half. Henry had a goal disallowed on a goal kick because he tapped it in after friedel dropped but before it reached his (friedel's) foot to kick it (hard to explain)

Arsenal are creating shots, but some are poorly taken. Pires hashed a good chance in the 6 yard box.

    Come on Gunners.

Freddie is not in the side at all. Announcer says he picked up a knock. Whatever that means.

    Billy, I'm here!

Following the match via matchtracker....I have ordered tons of matches via PPV and money is tight so no PPV for me this week. PPV cost as much as a trip to Ginger's.

BTW, a knock is when they have a slight injury or limp.

    Re: Billy, I'm here!

Patrick you are killin me. How can you not be at Gingers!!!!!!!!! Naw seriously I understand, I have a little one at home too.

Though if you'd get direct TV you could order the EPL, PPV package at the start of the season, pay one flat bill, and get all the PPV the rest of the season without having to order them or keep paying.

    LOL!

I would to be @ Ginger's for every Arsenal match, but it is an HOUR drive one way from place and money is tight. Honestly, it has nothing to do with my 2yr daughter. I could take her with and meet "Uncle Gary"...LOL. I also have a MOUNTAIN of papers to grade and the quarter ends in 2 weeks!

I'm even worse--I was ready to order PPV, and got fascinated with some stupid documentary about something I've already forgotten and missed the ordering window. Now I'm on BBC London listening to something...Palace I think...Yea Palace v. Forrest hoping to hear them jump up to Blackburn for some goal reports.

    Ugh...

Reyes looked good -- lots of energy and pace. He had a nice shot from a difficult angle that looked pretty damn close. I like how he hustles and pressures the defence on clearances.

It's weird, but as someone mentioned last week, when Edu is partnered with Vieira, Vieira is the one who tends to go forward, while Edu stays back and holds the midfield.

Everyone looked good, except for Gilberto. I thought Lauren played especially well, as did the entire defense. Clichy looked good as a sub.

very professional job by the Arsenal. 2-0 Free kick was sublime. Gilberto set up Pires (kind of) Gilberto hits the post Pires finishes

    Pires is a poacher.

We did look out of sorts a bit with Gilberto playing Freddie's spot.

BUT this is a good problem to have. Vieira, Edu, and Gilberto are all naturally suited for a midfield centre role. Vieira is the not going to the subs bench (nor should he ever but for rest). Need to get Edu and Gilberto some game time.

Last year in the run in with only had 1 healthy decent central midfielder, now we have 3, fine problem to have IMO.

    Patrick do you have FSW?
If not I tape the replay and mail it to you.

PM me your addy and Phone

    Lets go Gunners

p.s. Chelsea looked horrible this morning and didn't deserve the points, but Bolton didn't deserve the points in their first meeting so I guess it was karma.
