off topic but in Florida high schools they just created a blue card last yr (i think it was blue) i didnt know what the hell it meant tho.

 

For some reason, just the mention of a pink card makes me think someone should post the picture of the Argentinian players in the wall holding purses.

Somebody give this man some server space!

 

The same reason that the original MLB contraction plan included Florida and Tampa Bay. The same reason there are no WNBA teams in Florida. The same reason the WUSA's Orlando Tempest relocated to Carolina before Opening Day.

There are two:

1) The Florida sports economy sucks.

2) There are so many transplants, there is very little home team loyalty unless you have been there away (Dolphins, Buccaneers).

3) The general Florida economy sucks.

4) All Florida counts for now is football -- high school, college, pro.

5) Florida sucks.

 

That is borrowed from field hockey. Instead of a referee going up to a player with a verbal warning ("No more!" or "The next time you do that ..."), a green card is pulled.

 

Green card? Makes sense for Florida.
