We are well known to help struggling teams out of their slump but I'm hoping we'll make an exception today. Stuttgart narrowly got through their UEFA Cup contest during the week and we got a 1:1 draw at Inter Milan where at least the first half wasn't a good display by our team either. Merte is out due to his red card (3 game suspension). Stuttgart is missing Boulahrouz, Bastürk, Pardo and Delpierre.

    referee is Herbert Fandel.

    projected lineups by kicker:

    VfB Stuttgart
Lehmann - Osorio, Tasci, Rudy, Boka - Khedira - Hilbert, Hitzlsperger - Lanig - Cacau, Gomez

    Trainer: Veh

    Werder Bremen
Wiese - Boenisch, Prödl, Naldo, Pasanen - Baumann - Frings, Özil - Diego - Rosenberg, Pizarro

    Trainer: Schaaf

This match is a real test for our title credentials. Stuttgart haven't exactly been our favorite hunting ground in the past few years

I'll choose to watch this instead of the Bayern game. Stuttgart conceded three at our place last weekend so I dread to think what Werder's high-octane offense is going to do to their D. :D

Boenisch is on the bench. Fritz is playing. Stuttgart better so far. Khedira best player on the pitch so far.

update: 1:0 Stuttgart. Khedira of course.

That was HORRIBLE!!!! Diego's beauty notwithstanding, everybody sucked! Equal opportunity suckage. Good Grief, Charlie Brown. I think I'm still in shock.

Poor showing, but you guys have been playing quite a few matches recently. It is no excuse, but regardless that can catch up to teams sometimes. Not sure if Stuttgart are really 3 goals better than Bremen though.

Result doesn´t suprise me. We have lots of arrogant players.
After watching the first five minutes i was sure, that we get
trashed. The players thought as many times before they are the best
in the world and didn´t show any will to make the dirty work needed
in football. Nearly every "Zweikampf" got lost.
The players were mentally not on the pitch and
so we got many counter against us. That´s not a defense problem,
it´s an all-team problem. Every player has black-outs and that´s why
we got the most against goals of all Bundesliga teams.
It´s frustrating, there is no developement in these things.
Werder will not win any title in the next years with this team
and that makes me very sad. It also seems, that some players needs
to get kicked in the a** by TS before every match.
Thomas Schaaf said before the match, that he wants to see the
players being active on the pitch, but as he also analysed after the
match: The opposite happened and as said before the
    basisc of football weren´t done.
Active means, that you be concentrated, stand solid and play your
attacks with hunger for goals and not a half forechecking with not
being solid in defense and so inviting the opponents to counters.

Stuttgart played well, showed fighting spirit and
switched fast from defense to offense.

    P.S.:
Coaching staff and team stayed 2 hours in the locker room and it is said,
that the management got very loud. But the next match is in 2 weeks
and propably the players forgot what sh*t they played. And if not,
they forget it in the match after. That´s why i said, this team won´t
win a title. It has the skill potential, but that doesn´t help if you don´t
use your skills. The performances are not consitent and different kinds
    of mistakes are made:
Against Bielefeld, Gladbach and Stuttgart the team showed absolute
no passion. Against Schalke and Famagusta the team missed tons of chances. The second kind of mistake is frustrating, but the first thing
is pathetic. We play every year the same sh*t, especially in Stuttgart,
who are very strong at counters btw. But this is known, so why don´t
neither the players nor TS a strategy to get something countable there?!

    P.P.S:
    On Saturday they definetely were.

Unfortunately to say, the result did not surprise me in the slightest either. We definitely have an attitude problem in our team. Besides, Stuttgart have become a bogey team of ours in the last few years, matches against them seem to be extra tough for us for some reason.

The international break probably came at the right time, our players need to get their heads straight.
