Looks like there have been no BL matchday threads in awhile. Today I'll finally be able to watch a Bremen game in its entirety.

So far, all I see is Rosenberg missing the goal and Werder looking vulnerable on the counter. So basically, the same as always. :)

With that being said, Rosi did place a nice header on target that required a great save from the Augsburg keeper (Jentsch?).

Oh geez. A whiff of a clearance from Wolf leads to an Augsburg goal. 1-0 Augsburg 49'

69' Wolf makes up for his mistake with a flick-on header to Pizarro for the equalizer! 1-1 off a nicely placed corner by Ekici.

Bayern fan watching this one as a neutral (well OK, I'm sort of supporting our fellow Bavarians...)

Good goal by Pizza, though you should be in front by now.

I have no clue why schaaf keeps selecting Wagner. Smashes the ball over the goal with all the time in the world

Yep, Pizza has now missed two golden opportunities, with Wagner also joining the party with a miss.

Who would you prefer as the third forward? Thy?

i wouldnt have taken off marin to begin with. I would have brought in Ekici first. and then when desperation sets in, add the third forward.

1-1 FT. So many missed opportunities for Bremen. The midfield played pretty well though, and I thought Lukas Schmitz had a nice game too. What an improvement over the crap we had at LB last year!

Besides Pizarro there is no capable attacker and with defense mistakes you loose points. In such matches 3+ goals must be scored.

For the first time in a long time I had chance to watch this match and the power went out . Glad to see game threads up again and I expect I'll have more to contribute with winter setting in.

Good grief, is Sandro Wagner in the starting 11 now? The guy is useless! Back to Belmiro! I sure hope this Thy dude is ready to step it up and take San...(f**k I don't even want to say his name anymore) job away. You know how KATS waited so long to address the defensive mid-field and defence (basically pissed two seasons away), now would be the time to find the next Pizza. I would like to see a triple threat now, with no one in mid-field scoring like past seasons.

Oh well, I guess that's not the plan. It's hard to watch an experiment failed. On top of that is knowing it's going to go on and on without change. KATS and whomever else that matters are way to stubborn in the wrong ways and Sanxxx will continue to shoot blanks on national TV and collect a good paycheque on the backs fans. Another Bobo Sanogo as far as I'm concerned.

Good to see the board still going strong Poppa and Slants!:)

sanogo at least had a good half season - this wagner does not even come close and it is very very frustrating to see him on the pitch.

How about using Arnautovic as the foward with Pizarro. And are Thy and Kroos really not up to scratch now?

yes agree on Sanogo and we traded him to St. Ettiene where he's played 31 matches and he tallied one time...thank god for small miracles! i don't think anyone will pay a thin dime for Wagner. we are sooo stuck with this problem unless the trade deadline reveals something new and my gut tells me "no".

i would also like the Arno question answered, are we losing anything by playing him as a striker? i'm assuming his physical presence will improve the midfield until TB can play again, but has Arno even been playing in the 11 regularily?

there seems to be alot of things at work here besides complete stupidity but they are not apparent. and in the meantime Augsburg, AUGSBURG! is giving Werder a run for thier money. if this is re-building it is time to get rid of some trash.

Arnautovic had been having a decent season before his suspension (itself undeserved...)

I really think that moving Fritz back to a defensive position would help us a lot.

    Pizarro - Arno
    Hunt - Ekici - Marin

But yes, the truth is that we are missing some genuine creativity in the midfield.

That is Ekicis role. Sad that he missed parts of the season preparation, but he must step up and start showing performances like last season in Nürnberg. He has the skill to do so, he only needs to show it.

I don't think there's any need to overreact here. Bremen created plenty of chances and were simply let down by their finishing. I only remember two real chances for Augsburg, and one was the goal that was gifted to them by Wolf's mistake. Bremen had closer to 10 chances, and a good performance by Jentzsch, some uncharacteristic misses from Pizarro, and some very characteristic misses from Rosenberg and Wagner resulted in only getting 1 goal.

sounds like the story for the past few seasons.

I heard Friedrich is a free agent now... would be great if we sign him, although this is unlikely. I am still unconvinced with Wolf, as Aluscardum said, Fritz belongs to the RB position, and Sokratis to partner Naldo.

Friedrich is a waste of money. Signing him would be even way more insane than the Silvestre signing.
